I'm very proud of my Irish ancestry, so I always celebrate today. I've had Irish music playing, and made colcannon for dinner- it's a traditional dish, basically mashed potatoes with cabbage and leeks mixed in. And right now I'm drinking a bottle of Harp lager.

I also smacked my hubby for not wearing green. He says he doesn't have to because his ancestry is almost entirely Polish. I say it doesn't matter, that he's Irish by marriage :)

Keidyne and Caelan got baptized, but that wasn't in relation to today. Just I had to get it done because I've procrastinated long enough.

I painted my kitchen green, does that count? And I'm a sloppy painter, so I was wearing green too! ;)

We usually go out to eat at this Irish restaurant. This year I want to venture Downtown to the parade, but am not sure yet.

St. Patricks Day is one of my favoritest days because
it is my birthday :)
As a kid, I loved to watch Darby OGill and the Little People lol
I always said I had to be Irish because I was born on St. Patty's
Day. Also, I have always wanted to go visit Ireland.

Jeeze! I thought for a minute I'd missed it. lol

We don't do anything special. I just go around pinching everyone who doesn't have green on.

:lol yeah you did! :p What do you do Hippie?

I always make corned beef and cabbage w/ some fixins in the crockpot and also go out to dinner at a buffet so I have LOTS and LOTS of corned beef, my fave food! :D We like to go downtown and celebrate. I'm not a drinker and I hate beer so I never have that. Unsure what we're going to do this year, have to see what's going on in town :)

We usually do something special, because it's also my husband's birthday. This year tho, don't think we'll be doing much of anything, because he'll be out of town doing training, getting ready to deploy later on in the year. So, will probably just make sure me and the kids are wearing green.

I'm Irish (and German, and Swedish and oh well I have always said I was like Heinz 57, a little of everything) but the only thing I do is put up a door hanger of a Leprachan and a pot of gold that I made out of plastic canvas.

And I have never pinched anyone, pinching hurts and leaves lttle bruises.

I don't celebrate St. Patty's day at all. My bestfriend died on that day and then 10 years later, my grandma died on it. And, one year my hubby got a DUI on St. Patty's day. Actually, I'm kinda afraid of the day!!!!

Awww. I'm sorry. :( My dad's funeral was on St. Patty's Day. :( Speaking of being afraid...he died on Friday the 13th. :(
