Cost of Groceries

Is it just me or has the cost of groceries gone up in the last month or two?
Seems like I'm spending maybe 10% more for the same stuff.
Laundry detergent is my latest whine. For the last year or so I would stock up when my brand went on sale but it hasn't been on sale for awhile and it's not that much cheaper at the dollar store.
And cat food is outrageous.

I don't think it matters where you live, the prices of things are going up. Some places are cheaper but over all it is all going up. I try to do my main shopping at Aldi's though, that seems to be cheapest place to do my shopping.

we need an Aldi's around here, all we have are Brookshires, WalMart, and an HEB about 30 miles away.

I know Super Walmart is getting really high here. But then the other grocerie stores are too. One sister lives in Louisiana and another in Mississippi and we compare prices of Super Walmarts and its a lot cheaper where they live than it is here in Alabama.

one way I save money, I don't take the kids with me LOL

but yes, it is so aggravating at the grocery store, they want you to eat healthy, fruits veggies etc.... but it's just too damed expensive.

It sure is. Tomatoes are almost 2.00 a pound. Potatoes are 5.00 for five pounds and 6.97 for ten pounds. Bell peppers are .99 each. Yellow onions are .98 a pound. Oranges and apples are 5.97 for a four pound bag. Cantaloupes are 2.50 each. Grapes are 2.97 a pound. Bananas are .80 a pound. Lettuce is 1.97 a head. I can't hardly get out of the produce section without oweing twenty something dollars just for lettuce, tomatoes, potatoes, one yellow onion, and two bell peppers. I've stopped buying most vegetables except frozen or canned.

I know the warehouse market right now has 10 pound bag potatoes for 2.99, cabbage .39/pound , granny smith apples, .79/pound, baby carrots a dollar, and 3# bag gala apples for 1.69~~ I will be going there tomorrow for sure

It is amazing how in different areas/states grocery prices can be such a big difference in prices!!
I remeber back in the day when canned veggies were like 3/$1.00, and on a super sale, 4/$1 ~~hamburger meat .99#, I miss those days!!

I guess I'm lucky because I haven't noticed a big difference in prices, at least not yet. The prices seem to be the same except a few things, but I think that's because the season for them is over (like strawberries). A 10 lb bag of potatoes is 2.98 (not on sale), apples are 99 cents and up a lb (depending on the type), sweet onions are 98 cents, milk is 2 gallons for 3.98, eggs (18 ct) are 1.49.

Prices are going up everywhere.
Good idea to shop with coupons whenever possible.

Same here, can't tell much diff. They jumped up quite a bit about a year ago, then not much really since then.
