Has anyone noticed that the wording (in small print) on some coupons has changed?

I was cutting out coupons last night and noticed a few that said 'ONE COUPON PER PERSON.'

Not per item.......

not per transaction......

PER PERSON!

I wonder how many cashiers are going to start paying attention to this? I'm not about to make 8 different trips to the grocery store for items that I have a lot of coupons for.

WTH is wrong with these manufacturers? Don't they want us to buy their products? With the lousy redemption amount, and now this, you'd think they didn't want us too!

OMG, the laundry detergent price jump, yes!!!

I actually posted a laundry detergent price hike in v/w earlier in the summer. I can't believe how expensive it has gotten and is not on sale like it used to be and even the sale prices are high. Someone posted a recipe for homemade laundry powder that is made with all natural ingredients and goes far. I know it has fels naptha, soda powder, mule team and I can't remember what else.

I don't like using cheap laundry soap. I've tried a couple but they are just mediocre.

Grocery prices here are ridiculous also. Lately, I shop the special sales, and usually plan menus around those items and whatever else I have on hand from previous shopping trips.

Here was the list of stuff I bought last night at the local grocery store-all items listed on sale in the flyer for last week.New ads come out tomorrow.

Milk $2.98 gal
Eggs 2 @ 1.09 dz.
Wonder bread 24 oz loaf- 6 loaves @ .99 ea.
1 lb Bologna $1.39
1 pk Boneless chicken breast @ 1.68 lb. Total for the package $6.19
Boston Butt pork roast @ .88/lb Total price $3.92
5 lb bag uncooked/breaded boneless chicken tenders-2 bags @ $3.95 ea.
Bananas 2 lb/ .88
3 lb bag golden delicious apples $2.50
1 lb baby carrots .99
4 lb bag naval oranges $2.50
10 lb bag russet potatoes $2.99

I also got a few canned veggies for 58 cents per can. Seemed like a halfway decent price since the usual price now on average seems to be .79 per can. On the very rare occasion that the canned veggies drop to 50 cents a can, I buy cases of stuff at the sale prices.

Laundry products, paper products, etc I buy in bulk once a month or every six weeks at Sam's club. I refuse to pay local prices for any of that stuff.

Those are good prices. Super walmart here hardly ever has a sale. And when they do the stuff is still high to me.

WOW, those are good prices.
$2.99 is what 5# of potatoes are here.
I have to buy produce at the local grocery store. won't buy at wally; their produce is never good.
Our walmart's prices aren't that good; only one competitor in town (local grocer). Milk is around $3 gallon.
DH gets eggs from a guy at work; fresh eggs for $1.50 dozen

You're right about that. Walmarts tomatoes are terrible. If you don't use them right away they go bad in three or four days. And how high they are thats ridiculous for them to go bad so fast.

All those were sale price items, in hopes of getting people in the door to shop. I didn't buy anything that wasn't on sale. I can't afford their regular prices, but I take advantage of sale items when they have deals.

New ad is out for this week. Most of these have purchase limits per store visit, which is something they always do around the holiday shopping specials. Here's my shopping list. My husband and I will both shop, which will allow me to get 20 lbs each of the meat specials I want to stock up on.

Pillsbury cake mixes 68 cents each. (limited to 10)
Pillsbury ready to spread frostings 99 cents each (limited to 10)
Cranberry Sauce 88 cents/can (4)
Turkey 78 cents/lb (limit of 2)
Chicken breasts 99 cents/lb (10 lb limit)
Ground beef $1.38/lb (10 lb limit)
3 lb bag yellow onions 99 cents (3)
Martha White corn meal 5 lb $1.50 (5)
Martha White flour 5 lb $1.50 (5)

I think it is funny that people think that the produce at Wal-mart is somehow inferior to other stores. News flash the Wal-mart's here get their produce from Dimare - guess who almost all of the other stores get theirs from - you guessed it - Dimare. I only notice the farm name since we do work for most all of the farms in the Southeast.

Our produce and our meat varies so much between the different stores. Walmart by far has the worst produce and Meijer or Kroger has the best. For the price of fresh produce I want it to stay fresh when I get it home for more then a day. I buy only frozen basic vegetables, we don't use canned anymore it seems way cheaper and they taste a lot better. I can also cook what I need out of the bag and not waste anything. But that is only corn, peas, beans, and maybe a few other things occasionally... everything else is fresh. I'm not crazy about frozen brocoli.
As for meat, we stock up when something is on sale and fill the chest freezer. Right now it seems to be pork that is on sale all the time. everywhere!
