Doctors!!!!!!!!
Why do they not care? Okay so I have been having trouble breathing lately. It feels like I can't catch my breath like I'm not get enough oxygen or something. I also have anxiety and this problem is making my anxiety get worse. So I go see a doctor about it. So I tell her what's going on telling her I can't breath right. She asked me if I smoke I said yes but I am trying to quit. She said how much do you smoke I said well I use to smoke about a pack a day but I am down to about 7 a day. So of course her response is you need to quit smoking. That's all she said, she didn't give me any advice on how to quit or anything (I know that I need to quit smoking and I really am trying). I also told her that when I am sleeping at night I will wake up trying to catch my breath and it feels like I stop breathing in my sleep. And still all she say is you just need to quit smoking! She prescribes me an inhaler without even checking to see if I have asthma or anything wrong with my lungs. she did no test AT ALL! So tomorrow morning I have another appointment with a different doctor and I am just hoping and praying that this one gives a crap and can figure out what's going on!
Thanks for listening.

Wow, that's crazy. I'd report her to her practice if she's in a multi-doctor practice. Perhaps you have sleep apnea?

My MIL had the problem with her sleep, she woke up from sleep not breathing gasping. She ended up going to a sleep dialysis thing where they hook you up to all these wires and stuff and they monitor you while you sleep. Sleep apnia (spl?) I believe is what she said she had. Anyway, she is on oxygen at night while she sleeps and has been fine ever since.
I know you smoke, and just about everyone thinks that ALL problems smokers have are related to smoking, blah blah........ But you might have a deeper problem. I would most definitly see about a second opinion. I mean if she was so concerned about your smoking, she could have talked to you about it in more detail, especially since she thinks this is the reason of whatever health prob. you are going through.. and even perhaps prescibed you something to help quit.

She mentioned that for about a second and said she really doesn't think I have that. I think she said I'm to young (I'm 25) but How the heck would she know if she didn't do any test, lol. I'm just hoping my appointment tomorrow goes well. I don't have insurance so This one needs to care because I don't have the money to get going to all these different doctors.

no, you're not too young that's horse crap- kids have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. My ex has it and he's 32, was diagnosed 4 yrs ago or something. Illnesses might show more in a certain age group, but that's not to say a disease that usually affects people in their 60's can't happen to someone in their 20's, kwim?

Thats not right. I saw on tv a four year old had sleep apnea. He kept waking up gasping for breath or stopping breathing in his sleep. I'd definitely see another doctor and find out what the problem is.
