^^Aww, that is a tough decision for him I know. My DH finally made that decision after years of being taken advantage of. He just wanted the love and approval from them sooo bad. He finally realized that they are just sorry excuses for parents and human beings (his mom and dad are really bad) and wrote them out of his life for good. This of course only happened after years and years of constantly trying and going out of his way only to be hurt again. It has been 10 years since he spoke to his dad and about 3 since he talked to his mom (she stole money from us when she was visiting-only reason she even visited is bec. he sent her a planeticket). Life has been a lot more peaceful. No drama. It is hard though to watch your DH being hurt like that. I have been there for sure.
Anyway, I hope things work out and that you and DH and your kiddos get to enjoy the holidays w/out all the family stress.

Every day, more then once a day, he says how hurt he is. He would be happy if they would just call him. We have pretty much written off getting any more money from them, We recently found out they owe money to all dh's sisters. They are mad at us because the excuse now for not paying them (dh's parents I mean) is that they have to put money in the truck. If we knew about them owing money to them ahead of time we would not have sold the truck to them.
You do realize that if they have an accident with the Explorer with your dh's name on it you will alos be liable for damages?
Have dh sign title over to them & then take them to small claims for the money owed.

I'm sorry, I would simply 'un-invite' them for Thanksgiving dinner. I would let them know, in my email, that since no one is willing to contribute to the dinner, then we will NOT be hosting dinner at our house.
The reason you are getting food stamps and they aren't is due to your income. Is this really too hard for them to understand?!

The truck title has his parents name plus his on it. I thought that is what insurance was for, not who's name was on the title. I am confused as to what you mean. Can you explain it better for me please

If for some reason the insurance didn't pay for an accident. Or if they got a bunch of tickets... anything like that.. then the police.. or a law suit will come after the owners of the car.. all names that are on the title.

So say if their insurance had a lapse and one of them got in an accident it could come back on dh because his name is on the title also? I am pretty sure they have insurance now but she did tell me not long ago (before they got the truck on the road) they had a lapse in their insurance. How would he get his name off the title?

He can either sign it over, or repo the car for non-payment. If you need the $$, I say repo & let them know you will sell it, and if they want to, they can pay him or he will get someone else who will.

I really can't understand family, who when they see you struggling, think that's a good time to take advantage of you

How can dh repo it? What would he have to do? His parents name is on the title also, and they have it (it was mailed to them) We do not have an extra key for it. What can we do?

We do have a signed paper from the both of them saying they will pay $100 every 2 weeks until paid for, we have only received $50 the beginning of October.

BTW Yesterday was dd's birthday. Non of his family called to talk to her...makes me wanna just
