Good glad they are acting more normal. The Dr did tell me to keep a close eye on him when he is feeling/acting more normal. If he is fine and then gets worse really quickly to get him to dr or er right away. Hope both the boys are getting better and stay better

(Not trying to scare you or anything, just sharing information dr said to me)

Well they put Devin on the tamiflu stuff since he has asthma(sp?) so I'm pretty sure he's in the clear. Not sure if the PA told Christine that though for Blake so i'll definately make sure she knows, thank you!!

I have to admit I'm shocked Chloe and I didn't get it, we were over their house before the symptoms started, after they started (before we knew diagnosis) and after diagnosis(we were already exposed so what the hell LOL). We're past the time where it usually starts showing it's oinky oink head, so I'm thinking we're in the clear. However in the event we do get it, I just got on MA today so we're both covered to see a dr if needed

All you guys with the flu are in my heart. My 9 year old dd was just sick and tested positive for strep throat and hot flu. The nurse said a lot of kids there that day did have h1n1 and that it wasn't time yet for the regular flu. That we wouldn't be seeing that for about another month.
Then when teacher at school said lots of kids there had h1n1 flu but not confirmed cases because nobody was testing any more because the test cost too much. I was gettin scared and confused by this time and I called the health dept. The rude lady there told me they were not testing unless someone was in ICU or had actually died. She said also that it didn't matter cause there is nothing we can do about it and both are treated the same.
None of this sounded very good to me.

Yes the Popsicle idea is good, but not cherry...its awful coming back up.lol maybe banana. And make sure he does not get dehydrated.
Also take temp every hour, it sneaks up on you sometimes.
Alternate Tylenol and ibuprofen.

Lastly anyone with an underlying condition may have a harder time with h1n1. Like asthma, etc.

I ended up getting my dd a shot for both flu types, but the rest of us, mom,dad and older brother are still unprotected.
Sorry so long, my heart is with you guys!

Clinics can do a rapid test that will tell you + or - for flu type A or flu type B. If someone tests positive for the flu type A they are to be assumed to have the H1N1. The CDC is not doing further testing on the + because it is very costly and they don't have the funding and resources to do it. If our patients test + or even sometimes if they test - but have all the symptoms to the swine flu we are putting them on the Tamaflu.

He is doing so much better, he is sitting on the couch eating pizza. He still has a cough but no fever since yesterday morning.

I really am a believer for mandatory flu shots for ppl that can take them. It is crazy to get this mess when there are shots are there. ugh.
