my FIL had this for over 10 years. His doc put him on inhalers ~ albuterol, ventolin and a couple others I cant remember right now ~ In the past 2 years his health grew steadily worse to the point he was on oxygen once in awhile. Well in November of last year, he got sick (a cold) and tried to go to work (he was 68) he ended up coming home bcuz he couldnt breathe. He ended up having to retire from wal mart (he did maintenance)... In January of this year, he was on oxygen 24 hours a day, his breathing had gotten so bad. In February, he ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks bcuz his O2 levels were at 49 (they are supposed to be in the 90s) he came home in late February, and passed away March 6th. We found out about a week before he passed that he had cancer. The doctors had him on a CPAP machine and he was on breathing treatments when he would let us give them to him..
I am so sorry you and your family are having to go thru this. Its NOT fun and usually doesnt end well.
