I haven't been on here much at all in the past few months, my favorite section was the news cause there are some ladies there that I love debating with, I am sorry to see that it had to be closed because of whatever was going on there.....anyway just remember I am always at facebook

I think people just got bored sometimes and did it for entertainment. I don't think they were serious a lot of the time.

Discussing, debating...same difference. The "we aren't a debate board" only comes out when someone starts getting the best of someone else. If things aren't up for "debate" then there should be no replies allowed in any of the boards.

What decides what is a debate and what is a discussion and what is just a plain old opinion? Debating is usually when you use fact to back up your opinion. Discussing is just when you throw anything out there with ****ola to back it up and makes it basically just an opinion.

Acutally debating is when you debate a topic, not a person or what they think or what their opinion is about the topic. I think hippie already explained what debating means around here. Pissing Contest, I think is what she said. If people could have kept the discussing (debating) to the topic instead of being a bunch of cut throats and discussing (debating) other people's opinions we would still be able to reply in the N&I forum. And that is a fact!!

The way I see it the "We aren't a debate board" stuff comes out when people stop discussing the topic and instead start bickering and arguing and insulting each other. When the topic turns from whether or not government health care is a good option and instead turns into whether or not member X is an *** hole, that's when mods step in. When the mods step in and tell people to knock it off and the response is to ignore that warning, that's when stuff like this happens. I have never seen a mod step in here when people discuss things like rational adults.
