But, the point being is that no discussions what so ever should be allowed if it isn't allowed in one part of the forum. That's what I am saying. And why say debating isn't allowed only when the pising contest starts? The debating isn't the problem, it is the pissers. And when a particular group likes to follow certain members into every thread only to insult them, maybe they are the ones that should be getting banned.
Most of us can be passionate in our opinions and I don't see anything wrong with that. I personally have been on the receiving end more times than I can count of the bashing/insulting/name calling gang. So what, I personally don't care and I find it extremely funny when someone has nothing else better to come up with to win an "argument". The way I see it, that is proof that I won. Have I ever been guilty of baiting...yeah, I will admit that I have. But, that is only when someone has started what I consider a personal attack on me. And I can only think of maybe 2 or three people that I have done that with.
The people that are guilty of posting in threads just to insult are the ones that should have their positng privileges revoked. The last pissing contest that got N/I closed was started when a couple of people came in with nothing to add to the topic and only to insult and another member. I'm just saying.....

I think it's kinda when there are more than a couple kids in a household, so the parents will take something away from all the kids even if it was just a few that broke the rules. I think that more pissing contests arise when there are more serious topics, as is with the N&I forum, and that is why that is closed to replies and not the other forums.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone here take insults who didn't give back at least as good as they got.
Bottom line is this isn't your board or my board or even Hippie's board. We joined here of our own free will and we post here of our own free will but at the owner's discretion. If the board owners decide they don't like the direction the board is going they can and will change it whether you or I or Hippie like it or not. That's what they did at MWT. The whole forum secion is gone now. Hopefully these owners are more intelligent than Chris and Judy or at least take the members into consideration before performing any major changes. There is no law that says they have to though.

Roberta, you should know the difference in debating something (going back and forth trying to prove your point) and just talking about something (posting your opinion and moving on)
If you want to debate topics, go somewhere else.
