went well the HR lady loved me she just has to talk to the front end manager...today i have an interview @ noon selling verizon's fios....oh i so got this as i know the ins and outs of comcast already, and that's their competitor

That is a huge problem. You have to be available when they need you & not what is better and easier for you. With so many people looking for jobs employeers can be choiser.
I am fortunate that while most days I work M-F 9:-3:30 I can change my schedule a bit so that if I need to leave work early I can always come in early. I so stated as soon as I started my job that they days I have my doctor appointments out of the area I am taking the entire day off so I do try to fit in as many appointments as I can. Last week I had 5 doctor & test appointments.
I also have to cover certain Saturdays but that normally isn't all that often so I never mind.
Someone does need to be in the office when we are open so I can't say I can work at nights although I do take some work home with me.

it's not that it's easier or better for me..it's what i can work..i can't just leave a 4 yr old to fend for herself at night now can i?

I never said you should!!! Chole should always come first!

What I said was that in these tough times where so many people are unemployed companies are most likely going to go with someone who is available when they need you & not when you are available to work.
It sucks but that is the way it is now.
When I first started working full time I was also looking for a part time retail night job but they needed me available every night from 5-9 & every weekend all day/night which I would never have been able to do. I was more looking for 2 nights a week & 1 day/night during the weekend. They were unable/unwilling to work with me on that.

Sorry- I'm having a bad day and reading things wrong.

The Fios people LOVED me today, I filled out all the new hire paperwork, tomorrow I have to take my pee test They're totally cool with my availablity
