The handbook should be given at registration and is a wealth of information for those who read it and need it. It should outline the policy as well as course of action and how to deal with such actions. One example is tardiness. Each infraction is a in school detention. After 2 it is a saturday detention, after 5 it is suspension etc. Assualt, battery and sexual harrassment are also outlined. Start to document and follow the rules and guidelines straight to the school board. Those elected officals who hire the principal. They too need to be made aware so that they may act on your behalf, (or just to cover their butts) and interview the principal to find out why he did not handle it as it needed. Always call the police and report a battery. Let's call it what it is, and it is a crime. Parents may not be concerned except when you are sueing them in a civil action for not parenting. Depending on the age you could also sue the bully himeslf wjith his parents. I bet that boys will be boys attitude will change real quick.

Me
I went to school police officer BECAUSE the principal refuses to do anything. In fact, the principal told me last year to NOT go to the police officer. Well, I went to the officer WHEN the principal refused to do anything. The police officer told me he has jurisdiction over the school, and all teachers, etc. there. What I did not know was this year Josh (my son) was assigned a different principal (the school has a different principal I guess for each grade). Anyway, this principal and the police officer seem to be working together. I just want it all stopped no matter how it is stopped. And as I told the police officer, it included filing charges against the kid, his parents, and the school. So far, the kid has been absent from school, or it's been in service days .... so hopefully it gets better from here.

So sorry this is happening to your son.
Yes, it is sexual harassment and the school handbook should clearly state the punishments and the course of action the principal should take.
Glad to hear the policeman is helping your son.
Yes, this should also go to the school board.
Principal is not doing his job at all.

Yes, if it was a girl that was being victimized, that principal would be all over it.
