I hate my job
I work 3 hours a day monday-friday. I get $8.50 an hour. So it is not much at all, in fact I am wondering if it is worth it at all. I bring home $196 every 2 weeks. I get no benefits.
As soon as I walk in I get yelled at for something I did or did not do. I get told to do something or put something somewhere and after I do I get yelled at because it is not right or not in the right place. If I stand up for myself I get yelled at for that. I get up every morning thinking about calling in.
I am so sick and tired of not being able to do anything right, I went through it for so long as a child and now I am having to deal with it at home. I am trying to change things at home, it is a work in progress.
I would rather do anything else at a place that people treated me better, even McDonald's. Course a little more money would not hurt.

I know it sucks, but in this day and age, be thankful you have a job...any job. There's people who would love to have your job...any job.
Just go in thinking, "it's only three hours out of my day".

Keep this job for now and when you aren't working look around for another one. I wouldn't quit this job unless your family is able to get by on your husbands pay.

I know all this, it is why I am still there. It may not be a lot of money but it is money. I am looking around for something different, but in the mean time...I hate my job lol

I don't blame you. My husband went through heck with his boss before he finally quit just three months before he would have been there twenty years and would have gotten a rolex watch for being there that long. His boss was a major jerk. He knew he was sick and still rode him every day and kept him so stressed out he'd work all week and end up in the emergency room just about every weekend. I was really glad when he quit even though it was hard on us. No one deserves to go through what that man put him through. I believe he knew he was getting sicker and was trying to get him to quit by harassing him.

HUGS. Been there, done that. I use to go out on the loading dock everyday and SCREAM at the top of my lungs. Sometimes it helped and sometimes the police showed up. LOL

I refuse to say "Be thankful you have a job" when it is killing you mentally. I say find a new job as fast as humanly possible and if your household can make it without the $400 a month you are bringing home, quit now and let someone else have the headache. I worked a job where I got up every morning with a knot in the pit of my stomach on the days my boss would be there and there had been ANY POSSIBLE WAY we could have survived financially, I would have walked out in the middle of yet another one of the childish tirades I endured almost daily. As it was, Ned was on notice that I was close to snapping and to not be surprised if I walked out at any given moment.
I love (I mean LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE) the job I have now. It is all I can do to not OOPS! accidently fax my pay stub to my old boss because he told me sooooooo many times I wasnt worth what he was paying me. I am bringing home way more than double what I was before with better benefits/hours and the people I work with are great. I have heard through the grapevine that even though I wasnt worth what he was paying me, he has had to hire 5 p/t people and is advertising for #6 to take my place.
When you find a better job and leave, your boss will regret your leaving too. He will NEVER say "OH, DAMN, If I had treated her better, she would still be here." because he WILL be saying "LOOK WHAT SHE DID TO ME!", but you will KNOW the truth and you will get up every morning THRILLED to be doing something different!

I made up my mind tonight that I am going to put my notice in. Dh said it will make it worse for me and I am sure he is right.
I know that a 2 week notice is the "normal" but would a 1 week be good enough? I am thinking it is lol

Thats what happened when my husband went on vacation they said it took four people to do the job he was doing by himself. He never got to take lunch because trucks always came in at lunch time that needed to be unloaded. And yet that boss was always threatening to fire him or berating him. I think karma is coming around to his boss now. He's part owner of the company and they haven't got much business since my husband left.

I'm sorry that you are going through this, but I agree with CPBaby, its not worth it when it is draining you mentally.
I got a job last August, and from the beginning, I thought I would love it....I did...the job. I hated the boss. She was intimidating, rude, everything you are going through. In fact, I was voted an award for best contributions on my shift---and the award didn't even have my name right. My name is Donna Roberts, my boss made the award out to Donna Dixon. Anyway, to make a long story short, I had an accident at work, I fell in the parking lot. I got a concussion with long term effects. I was written up for missing work, and when given the documentation for the write up---it wasn't even for me, it was for another employee, lol. I continued with the job until the pressure got so much that one day in January, I got lost going home from work. It terrified me. I ended up in a really bad part of Kansas City with no idea how to get out of there. A friend on the phone talked me home for over 2 hours.
I was taken off work by my doctor because of the stress and pressure and did receive short term disability for it. However, that frustrated the company, which I do understand.....and they fired me after I told them that I would be released the following week and be back to work. I wasn't sad....not at all. Money is tight. Really tight, but the stress was so much worse on my whole family than the lack of money is. I hope things get better for you.
