The joys...
The joys of living on a mountain in a national forest are beginning to pale a bit lately.
I am bored with the bear that seems to be living on our porch. He has torn up the dog ramp and I'm tired of looking up and seeing him staring in at us. The coyotes have been nuts lately and keep waking me up in the middle of the night. I want to be able to put my dog out without having to scout the place out so something doesn't make her a snack.
I'm tired of not having any city services. Yesterday our water tank exploded. Not the hot water tank but the one connected to our pump. DH got it fixed after most of a day without water and we didn't realize until about midnight that the explosion had damaged our furnace. I've had the oven going for a while and it's up to 61* in here. Guess what he gets to do today?
On the other hand we're about to have that most beautiful weekend with the leaves turning and the tourists are almost all gone.

Booboo has caused me to wet my pants a time or two. Being four feet away from a big black bear with only door glass between is a bit much. I hope Pella uses strong glass.

BOY if Pella is bear tough they need to make it into a commercial. I would have inked myself drinking morning coffee and look up and there was a bear!

Yep, me n Booboo, we've bonded. When he crosses the porch he walks around my bike. It's funny to see his big wet footprints weaving around the clutter.

i'd be freaking out over the bear no doubt! although i'm not sure if you have the worst of 2 evils...i think i'd take my chances with a bear on the porch over these stupid city ignoramouses. I'd love to see some pics of the foliage where you live, do you happen to have any posted?

But we love coming to your area. We're getting ready to make a trip to Pittsburgh Mills and Primanti Brothers next month. Can I leave you Booboo?
No pictures of the leaves but I posted a couple of our yard in the photo section.

The Mills mall kinda sucks, they put it too far from everything. Have you been to Robinson Mall and the town center?

No, I don't really know the area. I'm like a homing pigeon. Someone takes me one place and I just keep returning. It's just so nice to be someplace that has more than a WalMart, although last time it seemed like a lot of the stores were closed.
I'm always up for suggestions.

The Mall @ Robinson..omg you'd LOVE it! there's the mall, then 2 HUGE shopping area's outside of the mall! it's on what used to be called the parkway west, going towards the airport. The mall itself is beautiful, and honestly there's pretty much any store you could want in that area, as well as tons of yummy places to eat!

there's also a place called the point at north fayette which is like seriously .25 miles from robinson town centre but i can't find a decent link to it.
I'm up there all the time, even though i live the same distance from like 4 malls because robinson is by far the nicest.
*found a wiki link to the point @ north fayette... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Poi..._North_Fayette
