Just because somene is a cashier doesn't mean they are stupid. I have a college degree. But since I homeschool my son, I have to work a third shift job. The only thing available was working fast food. I hate when people treat you like you're an idiot. They'll pay with a 20 or a 50 and tell you what it is like obviously you don't know. "Gee, I'm just so gosh darned stupid. I've never seen a 20 before."

I don't think evrita or myself meant that all cashiers are idiots just some. Up here it seems that a lot of them are........Thank the lord when I get one with a full functioning brain! I've done my share of cashiering and I am pretty darn smart...usually! I actually enjoyed being a cashier, oh yeah I can make change too!

I just had a experience at Walmart tonight, and this is the first time its happened to me here. We were in one line, and it was going slowwwwwwww for some reason, so I found a shorter one that seemed to be chugging along good. A young girl was behind us with just a handful of things so DH told her to get ahead of us. Right before it was her turn, the cashier told her " we are about to close the line down". Now, he SAW us get in line and didnt say nothing! His light was on when we got in line. She looked at him and said and why didnt you tell us this 20 minutes ago when we got in line???? he looked at the handful of things and said well I will go ahead and check you .. so I said well what about us??!! we were here before her and let her ahead of us,which is fine, but you should check us out too?? He just ignored us, so we had to go to another line and wait another damn 15 minutes!!!!!! I was so pissed!

I doubt if it would make a difference, but this is a situation where I would definitely talk to a manager.....just so I wouldn't stew so much about it the rest of the day. IF he HAD to close down, he could have at least been the teensiest bit courteous about it. Dolt.

yeah, and usually they will turn off their light to let others know to not get in line cause they are shutting down.
