If you had a coupon that said $1 off Nabisco cookies, but only showed Oreos in the picture...you would only try to use it on Oreos? The pictures are there just to pretty it up!

I always think the picture is there to help me reference what they are talking about. Sometimes I recognize something by sight rather than the name and then I see the picture and a light bulb turns on..lol.

I've seen this soooo many times. Personally, if I were given XX amount of money to spend on groceries I would try to get as much as I possibly could. After all once that money is out, the money comes from your own pocket so why not make it last as long as possible?

In fact one family I know has nice steaks a few times a week! Sure wish I could afford to!
Yes after 3 managers read and reread the coupon, I guess it must have been the college educated one that figured it out!
The cashier still was pissy about it though, plus all the extra time it took....I can't get those ten minutes back!
|
Each time I was going to ask that question but I knew if I worded it wrong and someone was behind me that had to be on foodstamps due to hard times I didnt want them to feel bad. On the other hand I shouldnt be judged because our shaws is having a sale on cereal and i end up getting them for 75 cents a box and i have like 10 boxes and 3 free gallons of milk. *sigh* I just cant win Some day I would love to just rip them a new one but I know I cant battle wits with an unarmed person.

I am getting sick of them asking me when I hit the good deals how I am paying for it as I swipe and put my pin in and i say my debit card and having them make me show them because they are almost positive I am trying to pay with EBT and no I dont push the wrong button. Just the other day I asked for cash back from the machine the cashier said excuse me I dont think you can do that with your card howw exactly are you paying i said my bleeping visa debit is that ok by you oh ok she says. I know I can look like crap after a long day at work but quit profiling me

I hate it when they do that.......HATE IT!
When I used to use WIC, I was told SEVERAL times that I wasnt allowed to used coupons when using WIC. People are insane.

I have worked as a cashier for around 3 years, give or take a month or two. I have had food throw at me, been cussed and yelled at and berated, been lied on and all throughout all of that drama, I always provided service with a smile. You know the old adage, the customer is always right? I always smiled and apologized for the inconvenience and tried to solve the problem, if I couldnt I called my manager and spent a moment catching the manager up with the issue before I moved on to the next customer. Nowadays, cashiers can't count, read coupons, or serve hot food it seems like except the rare few, and those are the ones I head to everytime. Just remember, if you get good service let the managers know, they want good feedback as well as bad

I have gotten so that I only use my charge card at WalMarts. I simply refuse to use cash. This happened twice to me, the first time I was paying with a $20.00 bill and the gal held it up and looked at it, OK, then she turns it around and looks at it, then it was upside down and then upside down the other way--all this in slow motion, then I was asked where did I get the bill, my reply was-the bank (it was the bank at their store), there was a line of people behind me all staring like I was passing a bad bill, I had checked the $$ at the bank myself so I knew it was good, anyhow then she calls the manager in between all of this she is sighing like it was soooo much work. Manager comes over and takes one look at the bill and looks at the clerk and says "it's good". The 2nd time was with a $100.00 bill, different clerk same routine. I called the manager that time and told him that it might not be a bad idea to teach the clerks what a good bill and a bad bill looks like because I wasted like 15 minutes of my time waiting for the gals to finally call someone, I mean it was a Cecil B. Demille production. One of the customers down the line made a very loud comment about Sh*t, and I have to pay cash, she pulled out of line, left her basket and walked out, all this while the manager was still there.

I have no idea. I know the WIC lady told me to use coupons, if I had them, so the WIC pool could stretch farther, but the cashiers didnt appreciate it, apparently. I also had a cashier REFUSE to ring my WIC up because I refused to sign it BEFORE she rang my WIC items up. THAT one turned ugly. Management became involved. I had to go to the car to dig out my WIC folder with the usage instructions on it. I spent WAY more time fooling with her than I should have. I still dont shop in that store and Sophie is 5 1/2.

I agree. Cause when you wip out the free ones (coupons) they get ticked off (not all cashiers) but some of them do. Its like geez a welfare case or something. Um no I'm a smart consumer. lol

At walmart when we had the pace salsa coupons I was checking out and had three of them, my cashier scanned them and fixed it so it only took off the right amount. Well next thing you know here comes Super Cashier from two lanes over telling her not to take them and made her call the manager who just said to take them and walked away.
The kicker... Super Cashier just moved in next to me!
