You really read way too much into what people post.

Oh come on...it was a WINETAG said $1 off chicken and showed a pic of a cooked chicken!!
If you had a coupon that said $1 off Nabisco cookies, but only showed Oreos in the picture...you would only try to use it on Oreos? The pictures are there just to pretty it up!

Beg to differ.......if a cashier accepts in invalid coupon...some will deduct that amount from her 'cash out' and she could be written up for that....potentially being fired for 'shortages' on her draw if repeated. So yeah, she's accountable to make sure all transactions are 'valid' and made correctly....

That may be and I would've asked for a manger....however, I was just making the point that sometimes accepting a coupon that is not valid (or for a wrong item) will affect the cashier (potentially her 'pocket'/employment).

If the cashier or customer are not sure, then its the cashiers job to call a manager over to make sure the coupon is valid for what is being purchased. After all, the customer is always right. There is still NO excuse for a cashier to be rude or bi***y. its THEIR JOB, and if they dont like it , they can always quit.

I am getting sick of them asking me when I hit the good deals how I am paying for it as I swipe and put my pin in and i say my debit card and having them make me show them because they are almost positive I am trying to pay with EBT and no I dont push the wrong button. Just the other day I asked for cash back from the machine the cashier said excuse me I dont think you can do that with your card howw exactly are you paying i said my bleeping visa debit is that ok by you oh ok she says. I know I can look like crap after a long day at work but quit profiling me

WTH does getting a good deal have to do with EBT? In my experience many people that I know that get foodstamp benefits don't even bother using q's because "they don't have to!" (thats from their own mouths not mine).
In fact one family I know has nice steaks a few times a week! Sure wish I could afford to!
Yes after 3 managers read and reread the coupon, I guess it must have been the college educated one that figured it out!
The cashier still was pissy about it though, plus all the extra time it took....I can't get those ten minutes back!
