Please don't take this the wrong way, but
has anything else happened in the world besides Michael Jackson passing? Don't get me wrong, it's a terrible tragedy and he will be missed, but alls I'm hearing about since yesterday is his passing. It's like Farrah has been pushed to the side. It seemed like one of our local news station's talked about his death for the first 30 mins then Farrah got like a minute of face time then back to him. I really hope that after the initial shock wears off we can get back to our "normalish" lives. All this coverage is making me sad and I shouldn't have to not watch the news to not see it... I am hoping to hear about other things and what is going on in my area. I guess Joe Jackson frequents a restaurant here and we're hearing about what a great guy he is... REALLY!?!? b/c that is not the picture that has been painted of him before. It's like an over kill of 9/11 all over again.

I was thinking the same thing. There was no mention of Farrah on our local news. All about Michael and the more that is coming out about why he died is really sad if what they are telling is true.

I think that maybe because in a way we were all expecting farraha's death, as she had been going through cancer for a while, but with MJ, it was out of the blue, out of no where, it was a shock.
I mean, I was watching tv yesterday, and it interuppted in a "special report".
As I am not all to familiar with Farrah, the only thing that I know of her was she was a charlies angel... actress,playboy.... from what I gather.
I suppose it will all be about MJ for a while though.

There has been David Carradine 6-03-09, Ed McMahon 6-23-09, Farrah Fawcett 6-25-09, and Michael Jackson 6-25-09. Which we all know MJ is the top story. Also wonder who the next two are? Death usually comes in three's and we are four into it. Patrick Swayze next? Who knows?

I agree. I think all that passed away recently need to be given the same amt. of time, sympathy, effort put into it.
This is starting to remind me of when Elvis passed away. It lasted for weeks from what I can recall....I was around 14 when he passed away.
This is really sad:
Farrah Fawcett's son, Redmond O'Neal, is told of her death in jail, will attend funeral.
Farrah Fawcett's son, Redmond O'Neal, learned of his mother's death while serving time in the L.A. County jail. Officials sent a chaplain and a grief counselor, accompanied by a sheriff's deputy, to break the news, according to L.A. County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.
"He's doing well, considering the circumstances," Whitmore said.
O'Neal will be allowed to attend his mother's funeral, he added. A similar court-approved visit was allowed when Fawcett fell ill in April.
O’Neal, 24, whose father is actor Ryan O’Neal, was arrested in April on charges of trying to smuggle drugs into a county jail, the latest in a string of drug-related arrests.
Redmond O'Neal's three-hour visit with his mother in April took place at Fawcett's home and was supervised by a sergeant and a deputy, costing $1,285, and was paid for by the family, Whitmore said.

The death of Michael Jackson is probably a godsend for politicians. It takes some of the heat off Gov. Sanford. It's better than hearing how bad the economy is. It let's the government ignore the protests, etc. in Iran and thus not add to anti-American sentiment there. It's also a break from hearing piddly stuff about the Obamas such as their puppy, garden, what designer clothing Michelle is wearing, etc.
