Do people not know what "no soliciting" means? - Page 3 - Big Big Forums

We have JW's in our neighborhood daily. One day I got sick of it and unloaded on some poor lady who explained to me that she was not soliciting, but simply offering a "religous visit"

So this is the sign that is on my door:

No Soliciting
No Religious Visits
If you don't know us, don't knock unless you are fire, police or ambulance.
If you are on our property and we do not know you, we will consider you a trespasser and we will deal with you accordingly. If you leave a flier on our door, we will call your corporate headquarters until you are fired. This is a tough job market, do you want to take that chance?

We get a lot of people that come to our door, read the sign and then book it off our property with a quickness

We have a sign that says " if you do not know us, are not UPS or FEDEX-GO AWAY!" Has worked so far

Thanks everyone, a new sign is coming I just need to make it lol Usually I don't answer the door, but it's still annoying when the bell rings early in the morning and there is no package awaiting me

How farking rude! Ev Suggested I need to get a sign that says "beware of dog" as well.. I think I might do that but put Beware of my Rottweiler (in english and spanish) and see if that doesn't stop the annoying disturbances

Or maybe people who are not delivering goods or welcome here will meet my 100+ pound rottweiler... I wonder if that would work? LOL I'm like that cranky old lady who doesn't want ppl on her lawn. If I wanted their goods and services though I would call them, LEAVE ME ALONE!

One day I hope to have a security camera w/ an intercom so if I don't recognize them I can ask what they want and if they're selling me crap I can respond w/o the dogs going crazy in the background if they do not know what no soliciting means...

Amen! If I want what you're selling, I will go and get it. Do NOT come to my door!!! I live in a mobile home park and there is a sign at the entrance. "No soliciting" I told this to a local minister who came to my door last week. He said he was just introducing himself and had a stack of business cards. He insisted it was not soliciting. Yeah, it was. You came to my door without an invitation, you're not someone in need, we have no common friend, I don't know you from a hole in the ground and you want to give me your business card.

Stay away from my door!!!
