Do people not know what "no soliciting" means? - Page 2 - Big Big Forums

We get them all the time. Aggie won't go to the door anymore. Most people if not all are shocked that I'm in a wheelchair when I answer the door. It really does catch them off guard. Usually they (most of the time) forget what they were going to say. With Toddie (Toy Pom) barking like he's the BIG MAN of the house that helps too. Usually not to long and I'm back to what I was doing when the bell rang.

I still hate them coming to the door. We have signs posted all over our neighborhood not to solicit anywhere around here.

I gave Mormons a dollar one time for a child charity and now they come by once a week, since I have the sign up on my gate they do not come in the gate but wait until I am walking outside to my car etc. I say respectfully, I do not discuss sex or politics or religion, thank you have a nice day

WOW!!!! this is funny, cuz today i was going to post if anyone knew why most churches are on a conner lot? was not sure to post it in here or the reglious one, cuz i didn't what to be called on about the wrong forum. but anyway i think i know why churches are always on corners...........aren't they cause they don't have to pay property taxes, and corner lots (in my state, PA) i thnk ALL churches are are exempt from propity tax?? and as far as i know corners lots (in PA) are considered prime property?? they were to change that law, but where i live I don't think so!! like my husband said we don't have a few nieghbors we have about 200. would be nice if that was our faith, but nooo our church is on the other side of town. no wonder we pay $1600 a yr. on my adams's family house. but at least when JW come here i just open the door & point the the church next door.... ha. ha, but at least it works until the new ones come.
nothing against ANY coice of faith just my thoughts.

Just once, I'd love to answer the door covered in fake blood, holding a chainsaw. I'd invite them in for tea. Think they'd come in? lol

I once opened the door in a nightgown that left little to the imagination to 2 women JW's... they never came back...

Then I scared off 2 young Mormon boys once... I was down at my mail box and they cornered me, it was summer time and they were on their bikes, one was actually pretty cute, and in his early 20's. So I said to him... "Hrm... it's awful HOT out, isn't it..." and he just smiled... and proceeded to do the pitch, so then I said "Why don't you come in my bedroom, big boy...and we'll talk one on one..." and winked. I've never seen anyone pedal away so fast... LMAO!

They never came back either...

In 1996, I was between jobs, young, and had just discovered that the church I was attending was not a good fit for me. So, I was somewhat down in the dumps. Two JW came to the door to talk to me and I chatted with them, and agreed for them to come by later in the week to sit down and talk to them.

They never showed. So, that did wonders for my low esteem during that time frame, when even JW did not want to chat with me!

Some of my hubby's relatives are JW and some of my family is mormon. Although I dont particulary agree with those religeons, I do try to be polite. But if they cant or wont listen to the word NO, then I will get rude. Some things that have worked... answering the door naked with a friend and say cant you see we are busy?? Or tell them you are a satan worshipper. or answer the door with a big hogleg J and tell them you are a herbalist.
