We were told at work that it would start with our first check in April as the starting date was April 1.

Don't worry, it is only going to be for 2 yrs. They have already decided that it won't be a permanent tax credit.

DH got his pay today, he gets paid once per month & it was an extra $65. I certainly won't complain. That covers our water bill with a little left over.

If you're not going to notice the extra $10 a week then it shouldn't be hard for you to take it and put it away in an envelope every week until the end of the year and you'll see that you can have that nice chunk of change.

I won't notice it but that is because I am commission only and my paycheck is never the same. My hubby said that his check was $10 more last week.

The thing that irks me the most is if you are on unemployment then you already started getting an additional $25 per week and it will be tax deferred.

Supposedly NOT. Unless Obama changes his mind. Which he tends to do.
Single per 2009 year is supposed to get $400, Married couple $800. Depending on salary.
If you do not get that much you are supposed to get the difference come tax time. If you get more than than that you will have to pay back the difference.
Somehow My dh's accountant has come up with a goofy figure of $44.44 per month?? Which won't even add up to $400.

I just have to ask - are you surprised that his "accountant" came up with the wrong amount?
Actually if you do it from April to December (9 months) it will be $ 399.96 so for once they are not completely wrong.
