Ditch the cable service and any "extras" on your phone bill, drop your dsl or cable broadband to the lowest level or switch to a free dial up service. Get rid of the cell phone if you can. Do maintenance work on your car yourself - yes you can change the oil, air filter and stuff - it really is easy to do.

I don't really advocate not paying your bills, for various reasons, but maybe you should contact a few creditors, explain how things are and would they be willing to settle with you. Do you know anyone who needs childcare over night or on the weekends? It's crazy isn't it, trying to keep your head above water now.

I know its crazy but my brother in law used to give blood for extra money. Maybe you and your husband could for some extra money. He had a rare blood type so they paid him more.
We weren't behind any and our mortgage company let us finance to a lower rate. I think you have to have so much equity before you can though. Maybe you can go through another company besides your mortgage company to refinance.

I know that this is not a suggestion as to how to further cut bills, but since the weather is getting nicer, could you perhaps have a yard sale to help bring in a little bit of extra cash, and at the same time 'weed out' extra stuff hanging around the house? I'm sure that the numbers at yard sales will be big this year with folks looking for a bargain, rather than buying new.

Maybe you mean selling Plasma, it's not the same as giving blood (which you can only do every 8 weeks???). My DH and I sold plasma when in college. He still does it to have money on the side (makes about $60 cash every week)
Make sure you eat a good protein filled meal, since your protein levels have to be a minimum level when you do this. Also, drink a ton of water (and stay away from things that can dehydrate you like coffee or tea). They hook you up to a machine that seperates your blood cells from the plasma, then puts the blood cells back into you and keeps the plasma (that's why you can sell twice a week). Great way to make some extra $$$, and it's tax free.

They'd have to be pretty hard up to take plasma from this 95 lb. 60 year old.

She's right, she DOES need those Go to the Threedogbakery and get some recipes for treats. Lots of them use things you can get pretty cheap from the grocery store.
My dogs love those Alpo livasnacks. Walmart has them cheap.
Rather than to use rawhides, invest in a kong. you can stuff 'em with all kinds of goodies and they are so fun!! In fact, how big is your doggie? Send me your address if you want, I might have one laying around here you can have. they last forever.
Sometimes, I put the youngster's dog food in them to give 'em something to wear them out.
