While I don't agree with her colors she is the bride and isn't it her wedding?

I think her color choices would be ok if the weeding was not in 2 weeks and we already had ALL the decorations for the other colors. That is what is killing me

Maybe I am dense, but I don't understand what lawnmowers have to do with a wedding or WHY they even have decorations with that theme available. I just don't get it.
I agree it IS her wedding but seeing how she is paying you to do the planning and stuff, changing it 2 weeks beforhand would be a HUGE vent and whine for me.
Plus...tractors and lawnmowers just doesn't make sense. at all

Tell her there is a restocking fee of 20% for returning the decorations, maybe that will make her think about it a little - then again maybe not. I think that when people are getting married they get caught up in 'wedding fever' and rational thought goes out the window. LOL

The John Deere collectibles are very expensive. My ex FIL collected them and he about broke me every bday, lol! (but he does live on a farm has real JD's)

And even more OT, I learned to drive on a JD tractor!

Well maybe I am just a little bit too country or something but I know several people who have had john deere themed events, it's actually quite popular.

It's a theme just like anything else. I have been to weddings where it was very somber and then the reception was a reflection of what their interest was.

Just be sure a print out a disclaimer and let everyone know that you had no part in planning or decorating the reception. Just make sure you get pics for us though.

You said the groom is 20 yrs older but you didn't say how old he is. How old are the two of them?  I think she is wrong to ask you to do this at this late date, I mean golly, someone said before , if she had hired someone else she couldn't have changed her mind at this late date. But she is young, and she is the bride. I would try to do what I could to change things. I certainly wouldn't kill myself over it though. You know since this is your side business people are going to think you did it, so you might as well try to make it look as pretty as you can. and you can tell people that the bride asked for this theme. But if you do it, just be happy with it, don't kill yourself to make her happy and then talk about her behind her back and hurt her feelings after all your hard work.
I have a close friend who is 17 yrs younger than her husband , but they were 30 and 47 when they married. It was his second and her first. They have one child and they have been married 22 yrs. She says the age difference is much more apparent to them now because she can see how he is aging so fast but she is happy and would do it again.

I think the bridesmaids could wear farm girl dresses and pony tails, groomsman in overalls and straw hats. lol

My nephew had a John Deere party for his 3rd birthday. It was very cute. He even had a pinata.

Ok to answer the age question. She is 20 and and he is 40. It is his 5th wedding and her 1st. He has 5 kids from the age of 20 to 2 (the 2 year old is their child). He meet the girl when his oldest daughter had her over for a sleep over.

I have been looking at an elequent way to do this today and think I have actually come up with one. But I will post pics for everyone to see
