My mom got taken for $850 on Ebay which is a federal offense & no one helped her get her $ back - I am sorry you got taken ((Hugs))

If you can't find the paperwork for ATT, you might be able to call them and explain what happened. You don't have to say you sold it, but just say that the phone itself is missing and see if they can help you, they should have a record of that information somewhere...the question might be if they want to look hard enough for you.

I am not sure but I do think att will and can brick a phone. So when the person goes to put service on it they will not allow them. What kinda phone was it? I am hoping not an iphone because of its use of wifi people can use that phone for free with no service.

this is what i was gonna say, if she took, a week to pay, i would have emailed her and told her that i was gonna wait a week to ship until that payment cleared.... she could just get over it.... I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT...

Awww sweetberries, sweet is in your name for a very good reason.

AT&T wouldn't do a damn thing to block the IMEI # they said they could only block the sim from being used. I do get my final value fee back from Ebay...big whoop huh?

Ebay sent me her info so I have her phone # but haven't tried to call yet...don't know why it scares me to. The address they gave me is different then the one I mailed to from her paypal too.

I got scammed one time on ebay (as a buyer). The guy had been golden but turned bad and scammed a bunch of us for some fairly big items ($100 and over). One guy contacted some of the others and we started calling him all the time, then the original guy threatened to go see him and called some people in the same town with his same last name. He was finally browbeaten until he sent all of us our stuff. I don't think you can get other people's info on ebay like we did back then, too bad, it worked well.

Call her and bug her. What finally got our guy is that he didn't want his roommate to find out what he had done.

If the address with ebay and paypal aren't matching, the phone number is probably no good either.

Good luck getting your money back. Paypal is no help, and ebay will probably say that you're screwed for shipping before paypal cleared the payment. It was probably sent to you as an echeck which takes about 4 days to clear through paypal. She didn't have the money in the account linked to paypal so they reversed it saying there was no money there.

I have made it my own policy on ebay, that I do not ship an item until the money has cleared paypal and successfully transferred to my checking account from paypal. That usually takes 72 hours.
