I Would Call Her Police Dept Too -i Had To Do This Once Over A Credit Card-i Filed Charges Here-and Called Her Police In Ohio-believe Me She Got Busted! I Am So Sorry This Happened To Ya Tam-let Us Know What Happens.

Do you have the IMEI# for the phone?(even if you dont and you have ever had the phone on your account, they should have the IMEI# on record) If you do, call your original hpone provider that it was purchased from and report the phone stolen. Even though you sold it to her, she did not honor her payment, so yes, it is stolen property. Once you report it stolen, it gets zapped and she cant use it. No one can until you call and report it as found.

If you are lucky and it is a Nextel, there is the possibility when she turns it on, or puts her sim in that Sprint will charge her for the phone.

Thats exactly what happened and I just NEVER knew that it could happen this way and for them to wait 3 days so I had it shipped.

Its an AT&T phone and it does not have a sim in it. Its one I just got though on a contract so my paperwork probably has info on it. Won't they think it is weird that my phone was "stolen" without the sim?

I just checked the DC # again not really expecting to see anything and I am so screwed

Up intil a couple hours ago it still said it was at the PO.

Dback have you had any communication with the buyer? Did she email you back? I'd email the b!tch through ebay and tell her that there was proof of delivery and if it's not shipped back to you immediately you will press charges with their police department. In the meantime I'd call them anyway. Sorry this has happened to you.

No, when a phone is stolen, people usually pop the sim, and put their own in it. What most dont realise is when they do this, it reads the IMEI# on the phone's internal memory and sends it back to the company.

When you report it stolen, they put a hold on that IMEI# and once it becomes active, unless they stole someone else's sim, they know who has it. When you report it as stolen, they also make it to where the phone with that imei# is useless regardless of whose sim is in it.

Definately give AT&T a call.

That is TOTAL BULL CRAP! I would be on the phone with paypal AGAIN and let them know that they are supposed to be the ones that are the middle man. THEY Are supposed to get the money TO YOU FIRST and PROTECT THE SELLER! This is the purpose. I would be all over paypal on this one. I would DEMAND That they replace my item OR PROVIDE ME THE MONEY THAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO PROTECT.
I cannot beleive they even LET PEOPLE BUY IF THEY ARE NOT REGISTERED, CONFIRMED AND VERIFIED.
I have instituted this on my ebay policy for shipping. IF YOU ARE NONE OF THE ABOVE, you cannot bid. I will not ship until the item clears my bank account now. I am tired of the scammers...but still need to sell my items!

Sorry this happened to you.

Call the local police station, and file in your own town.

Ok..Ebay has a way to report fraudulaunt buyers so I have done that now too. I followed up her good feedback left with a line saying she SCAMMED me and used paypal with no funds in acct.
I will give her until Monday to contact me and then will call police here and there. I am looking for my contract to see if it shows the IMEI# so I can call AT&T too.

For those that are wondering why paypal isn't backing me its because right on the payment it said she was not eligible for paypal protection but I had never had problems so I sent it anyway....thats why I was so stupid.

She has NOT responded to an email sent thru Ebay yesterday.

Low-life SCAM artists... you know, I'm 47 years old, and can honestly say, I have never, ever ripped anyone off. I don't know how those people sleep at night.
