The middle toe on my left foot was injured by my then 2 yr old daughter when she stepped on my toe in her corrective shoes and then twirled. She is 42 now. This tore my toe nail off. It grew back damaged and got a fungus. Most of the time when we get a fungus under a nail it starts as an injury my dr told me. This eventually spred to all the toes on that foot and also onto the top of my foot. If I wear socks the top of my foot will break out and itch. I do pretty good in the summer but in the winter it stays broken out. The crazy thing is I don't have it on the right foot at all. I can't take the oral meds for it because of my liver and other meds I take. So today I bought the Vicks. The fungus medicine I was spraying and rubbing on wasn't doing a thing. I hope this works. My doc will be so surprised! And I will be thrilled. Sometimes these little things that seem so simple can bother us so much. Thanks.

Question, do you all mean Vicks vapor rub? I too have tried some things but I have not been consistant. I need to take more time I think for the vinegar. But Vicks Vapor rub is this correct?

My podiatrist told my husband to get a spray bottle, fill it with 3% hydrogen peroxide and spray the toes. Soak them well. Let air dry.
Do this 3 times a day, for 6 weeks.
She is not an antobiotic pusher, she tries everything else first.
We are in day 3.

I recently saw a doctor on tv who was talking about methods of treating toenail fungus without taking drugs that can damage the liver. He said that the Vicks Vapor Rub works as well as spraying peroxide on the feet about 3x's a day for several weeks.

I had a nail fungus on my big toe, went to the doctor and he gave me a script for some polish, it was 90 dollars. I search nail fungus and went with the vinegar idea. I lost my nail within 2 weeks and new one grew back about 3 weeks later. make sure you use it even when the nail is gone. It says if you dont do it twice a day the fungus will start on the new nail also. Havent had a problem with it since.

Yes some of the drugs can be toxic. You must have blood work done often.

I was reading an article in my local newspaper tonight and it said that dipping a cotton ball in bleach and then rubbing it on the nail also gets rid of the fungus.

I would think twice about the bleach, but I started on the Vicks, I hope it works.
