Freakin fireworks!

I understand that people get excited about the 4th of July and just can't wait until the 4th to shoot off their fireworks, but aside from the fact that it's illegal to shoot them off within the city limits (where I live), my DD has CAPD and when someone in my neighborhood starts shooting fireworks off a week early, it makes for very LONG nights for me and my DD.

Whoever it is, lives on the block behind mine and if I knew who it was, I'd turn them in in a hearbeat.

If your not going to obey the law, at least respect your neighbors.

I like the controlled ones that the professionals do.
It just seems as if children are lighting them. And why are they aimed at my house? No adult supervision. The dogs are traumatized for sure.
I am so sorry you and your family have to go thru this. And it's not just the fourth it seems for me. People spend $100s on displays for every holiday any more.
We have tried to call the police on those that are still going on at 1 am, celebrating. But there are just so many police officers to go around.

It's not fair. I was taking a walk with my two puppies one year and a guy let off some kind of rocket and it shot straight at us. Never apologized. Just shrugged. Thats the mentality of who's doing the fireworks, anymore. Some should not be allowed to have anything that makes a spark.
But what can you do? (RAIN DANCES????)

Hoping you have a safe and enjoyable holiday in spite of the people who don't have any real experience with fireworks but light them anyway because they can. (And whose responsibility seems to end as soon as the thing is lit)
Not meant to be unfair to those who take care and follow the rules, my remarks are for those who don't care.

They are illegal in Mn. too, but we are very close to WI where they are legal.
Wisc stores are even offering money off of gas to get people to cross the border. Cars can be stopped and the fireworks confiscated. It would be bad enough if it was just the 4th, but they start a couple of weeks before the 4th and continue all month long. I think the police around here just ignore the call. They always seem to start around bedtime. I feel for you and your daughter.

Oh, I so understand, they have been shooting them off for weeks around here, I don't mind around the 4th but the dogs go into a frenzy every night. Plus it has been sooo dry everything is crispy and I'm afraid someone is gonna start a fire.

A neighbor on the street behind us has done it the last 4 nights and I'm ready to strangle them. Besides freaking my dogs out, I'm finding the trash from where they land in my yard and the dogs keep trying to eat it! I can't wait for the weekend to pass!

I have been hearing people already and it is driving me crazy......cats don't care for it much either.

Our house backs up to a field like are and there is a landscaping company behind it. Last year I was ready to kill at 1:30 am when they were still setting off firework. In addition to the folk in one of the subdivisions behind us joining in. I ended up firing off an email to the landscaping folks - which we he responded back and referred to it as a nasty-gram................said all I had to to do was ask that they stop....... I'm like please - somethings should not have to be said...... then the jerk went as far as asking how did I know it was them.............well if I can stand at my fence and watch you it would be a pretty good indication.

There are a couple of people on our street that do that too even though it's illegal. A few nights ago they started doing it at 10pm. It scares our cats.

OMFG LAMO! I just spit my tea out!

suprtruckr - she has CAPD. Its a hearing disorder and she has the worst form of it The easiest way to explain how she hears is that, you and I can hear a train coming. She can't hear it until its at its loudest point and then WAHM, she all of the sudden hears it. To her, simple black cat fire cracker is like a cannon going off right next to her.. and then echoing

We have headphones to help muffle the noise, but they aren't 100% soundproof

I feel for you tho.. my uncle had copd and it was a struggle for him to breathe some days s
