My Susie Q
My poor kitty. She's been sick for a few days now. Took her to the vet yesterday and she had a 103.3 fever. She's been vomiting and hasn't been able to eat for days now. She got a shot with antibiotics and one for her tummy. She vomited again this morning but my hubby fed her before she got her medicine. Poor thing has to take two pills twice a day. I'm just worried for her. She lost 3 lbs. I can't lose my baby.

Thanks guys. She seems to be feeling better. She ate today after we gave her medicine and has kept it down. I guess it's just like having the people flu.

Don't keep trying to give her solid food until she is feeling better, give her pedialite like you would give a baby. NO milk, and make sure her water she drinks isn't ice cold, which can induce vomiting. Start out with a small amount, see if she can hold it down, don't let her drink a bunch, you need to replenish her electrolytes until they can figure out what is wrong. Did they do blood work? What was the bills for, I take it since she is taking antibiodics for an infection, but what is infected?

She is vomiting again. OMG I don't know what is wrong. He gave her amoxil and a prescription for the nausea. He also gave her prescription food for her. I'm only giving her a tablespoon of the food. She doesn't even want to eat. He didn't do lab work as of yet. He thinks she has some type of stomach bug. She's sneezing, coughing, feverish and pretty much worn out. She did have a solid bowel movement today a little while after she ate but hours later shes throwing up again and she hadn't eaten in hours. Her water is room temp as well. I have another cat and he seems to be fine. I'm just so afraid she has a blockage somewhere. He already told me that lab work, ultrasound and possible surgery will run in the thousands. I just don't have it. I don't even think I can come up with the 500-700 dollars for those tests not to mention the 5 grand for the surgery. I just don't know what I'm going to do. She is so precious to me.
On another note, my hubby is suspected of having something wrong with his prostate, my father's killer has just killed 3 more people and suspected of serial killing. I just feel overwhelmed. Sorry it's so long. I"m just a bundle of nerves.

The fact that your kitty had a bowel movement most likely rules out a blockage. Mau-mau had a blockage in his intestines, and couldn't have one. Of course, your could always be different. I'll give you some advice though. If they suggest doing x-rays to see if there is a blockage, request that they do a barium x-ray. They'll give kitty some barium orally and in a few minutes do the x-rays. The barium will run through her system and make any blockage show up. Also most vets are actually in there job to help animals, and if you talk to them, and tell them you don't have alot of money, but want to look out for your kitty, they may try to help you by waving some of the fee's. With Mau-mau the vet ended up waving boarding fees and office visit fees. That doesn't sound like much, but the little stuff adds up. And they can give her a pill to stimulate her appetite also. Go ahead and get them to do the labwork as soon as you can. And hope she's feeling better soon!
