Either way, I hear ya. My hair is very thick and curly and it's a ***** to comb after my shower. It takes longer to comb than it does to shower. LOL

I use a deep conditioner once a week and a foam leave in daily, seems to help.
It's fine (the width of the shaft of hair -- straight -- never holds a curl or a perm) but it's thick because there is much of it.

so fine and thick.

I use Pantene Pro V shampoo, but use the Nexxus conditioner -- which I do NOT put in while washing my hair... I put that in after I have towel dried it and I leave it in.

I guess I will have to braid it - short of cutting it off, I don't see any easier solution. LOL

I will say that the longer it gets, the more headaches I get.

My hair is fine and thick also but I found a great shampoo and conditioner that helps prevent the tangles (Organix shea butter shampoo and conditioner. There's also a vanilla silk one which works just as well but I like the smell of the shea butter one better). Mine doesn't tangle much on the sides but the back underneath is horrible. I brush out my hair and then an hour later there's these wonderful tangles. Other than maybe switching your shampoo and/or conditioner, I would try asking someone who does hair professionally to see what suggestions they might have.

My apologies, I just called my mother (not because I didn't believe you all but I was really confused) and she explained it to me.

Sorry!

I was wondering that too because usually when your hair is fine it's thin. My hair used to be really thick until I was in my 20's. It's thinned out a lot since then and it's very fine. I have to keep it in a layered cut.

My hair is to my waist line. Thick and straight. I braid mine as well. It helps keep the knots out and gives it alittle bit of body when I take the braid out.

Fine refers to the texture of the hair, thick refers to the quantity.

My hair is very fine, but I have lots of it. What I don't make up for in body, I make up for because I have so much hair.
