Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
Ok- First off I would like to say that I am not the queen of clean but I do believe and keeping your self sanitized,....
Anyhow I took my daughter to McDonalds tonight for kids night- she wanted another polly pocket. After she had almost finished with meal the famous... " I have to go potty.." broke out. I got up and took her in there--- not only was there " dookie" ( as tyra banks would say) smeared on the wall but there was no soap in the dispenser... While drying our hands I watched a mcdonalds employee walk out of the stale--- pull her hair back in a pony tail and walk right out of the restroom.......I did hear the toliet flush.. she did not was her hands... now even if she didn't really use the toliet and still put her hair up( who knows what could be in there) and she did not wash her hands... THATS DISGUSTING!!! I am debating whether to eat there again or not-- I have never been real big on Mcdonalds but my daughter loves the toys.

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
Not sure why this is a debate, that is just plain DISGUSTING. You need to report this, this is obviously MAJOR health code violations. Go to another McDonalds if your kid must have the toy, or just buy it for $1 without the happy meal, this story made my stomach roll over

How do I report a food facility for health code violations?
The Environmental Health Division investigates consumer complaints regarding food, safety and sanitation at all retail food facilities in Orange County. If you have a consumer complaint regarding an Orange County food facility, please call (714) 433-6000 to report the complaint. Please provide the name and address of the facility you want investigated and explain the conditions you are reporting.

Or call your local health dept and they can tell you what to do

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
I worked at McDonald's for 10 years and this is typical behavior from what I have observed. I had a very difficult time getting folks to remember to wash their hands and to keep their hands out of their hair! Nasty! I don't know what kind fo good it would do but you could report this to Planetfeedback. Those letters go to the main offices of the company you're complaining about, not the local store. I know for a fact that it wouldn't do any good but perhaps if the store manager got in dutch from the owner of the store because he/she got in trouble from the main office, maybe changes would be made. One can only hope.
Thing is though, most fast food places are the same. You take a chance at every one of them. Most employ young people and from my observance over the years, they just don't think about cleanliness. Some adults too. The restroom should never have been left in that condition!!! Totally unacceptable!! Employees should check regularly. And if they can't get away then it is the responsibilty of either the swing manager or the store manager.

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
Thats gross! I wouldn't go there again I'd find another one. I've seen some pretty bad bathrooms myself. Not at McDonalds but at other places.

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
That's just disgusting. I could never go back there... We used to eat regularly at a place called Furr's. I refused to go there for the longest time because the manager refused to wear gloves and was working the line one night w/ an open wound on his hand. As we were walking through choosing our food he asked me what I'd like and I as loud as I could say it told him nothing because of the open wound on his ungloved hand. He gave me the worst look and was completely embarassed... but dude, I don't want your germs! We never went back to that one and did eventually find another one that is really good about all employees being gloved. I called their corporate office, I did planetfeedback... the whole enchillada... got no response from anyone!

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
I don't think McDonalds is the only one out there with poor sanitary conditions. I went to a Chinese restaurant and was sick for three days. Yuck! I used to like going out to eat but now I'd rather eat at home. Even the frozen dinners are something I can't stomach after Freezer Queen was cited for unsanitary conditions when they folded up the factory.

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
I'd definitely contact the board of health. It also might not hurt to spout off a letter to the manager of the place. But there is no reason for the bathroom to look like that and for the employee to not wash her hands and then go back to working with food?! That is how sickness is spread and I would not put up with it.

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
This is how all these "outbreaks" happen on cruise ships that are reported. The Norwalk virus is based from someone not washing their hands and serving food/touching it. Feces is usually found in the food. This happend in the dorms my first year of college. Janitors walked out on the job b/c so many got sick and the hospitals were overloaded. Fortunatley, I didn't eat what everyone else did, but is is Truly disgusting! This is why I don't like to eat out anymore. People just don't care. Places like Old county buffet are even worse! Yuck!

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
Why didn't you complain to the manager while you were there? Unfortunately, I think that's why some things are hard to change, because people don't speak up to the appropriate person at the appropriate time. Your daughter would probably be proud of you for speaking up, and it would set a good example for her. It's not too late, you could still go back and let the manager know what you witnessed. It would be more difficult for him to reprimand the girl you saw, but he could certainly use it as an excuse to remind his employees about their jobs and their responsibilities to the public. If the manager is a male, how is he going to know what is going on in the womens restroom unless someone tells him?

Re: Mcdonalds on cleanliness?!?!
I used to go to the McDonald's down the street from me until my son who used to work there told me about them having roaches in the soda dispenser. I went online the corprate headquaters and complained about it, and I went to that store and spoke to the manager. If, you don't report it, nothing will be done about it.
