So can I join the club with all the other posts about being ticked??

I am havinga c-section next Thursday. Only a few family members know about it. My parents, and my sister. It wouldn't be a big deal, but on the day I have it i'm limiting my visitors to that. I am not going to feel good at all.

My sisters work at the same place. My younger sister (who will be watching my son) needed to trade her day off for Thursday. She asked around and had it switched. My older sister actually kept asking her and asking her until she just said YES. I'm not mad at lil' sis. I don't expect her to lie.

I AM JUST GO PEEVED SHE HAD THE NERVE TO BADGER HER!!!! I don't want her at the hospital, and I don't want her kids there either.

They don't listen!!

I am at the point where I am just going to tell the nurses, NO VISITS FROM HER!! I don't even want a phone call. Maybe I will leave the phone off the hook for awhile.

Maybe it's hormones, But it really ticks me off.

(I don't get along with her because of the things she has said and done to a family member, and myself.)

(((HUGS))) I don't know where you are, but up here (or is it down here? lol) you can request that a list be made for visitors and you get a special pass if you are on the list. Hopefully your hospital security is as tight as ours is because unless you have a pass.. you don't get in!

I can tell them who I don't want there. The downfall is if they are having a baby, there isn't a nurse at the desk at all times. Anyone can just walk in.

I do have one thing over her though- SO HA on her, LOL-- she can't call in and find out anything about me unless she has my pin number.

Hopefully she won't be a pain for you... you shouldn't have to stress over her BS and hopefully she will think of that.

Good luck on the c-section and I hope things go smootly and your sister doesn't show up expecting to see you. I'd tell her that she isn't allowed to come and that if she does she will not be admitted, that way maybe she wouldn't even try. What a piece of work.

When you check in to the hospital
put a no publicity on your chart and in the computer system.

Have a sign posted on your hospital door - no visitors.

No one can give out your name, room number,
or phone number to any staff, any telephone caller,
or even the sis you don't wish to have visit.

Each year, we sign a confidentiality statement.

If your sis breaches that because of work.....
she'll get into big trouble with her employer.

You have rights on who you wish to see you
during labor,
delivery,
and afterwards.

Jody, this is true about posting the sign on the door. If you remember when I had Jasey, I was worried my mom would come to hospital. They posted a sign on my door that all visitors were o sign in at the nurses desk. it detered even people I wanted to come in. LOL

If your one sis works for a medical practice and is disclosing info about you that is a violation of HIPPA. It is soooo illegal, not only can she loss her job but she can get a fine and even spend time in prison. I believe the max fine is $25,000 per incident per year. I just was reading about it the other day. Anywho, I am so excited for you!!! Good luck Thursday and I will be thinking of you!!!

Both of my sisters work for the goverment. All I can say without anyone (including myself) is they dont have anything to do with medical...... LOL

Reminds me of when I had my first son. I was 18 and my then boyfriends mother said some things while I was pregnant that ticked me off so when I was in the hospital I told my nurse that I didnt want her in the room. She had quite the testicles though because the nurse came in later and told me that my bf's mother insisted that I didnt mean her because I wanted her in the delivery room with me

HA! Dont know where she got that from but I know she wasnt in there...lol

Best of luck to you with your c-section hun! Speaking from experience from my hysterectomy over the winter ( i know, not same thing but same spot and Im sure similar pain) I want to tell you to make sure you have a pillow for your tummy for the car ride home !!
