LOL! I HAVE to wear chunky shoes or high heels, or my pants drag on the ground.

I have the opposite problem. Most of my jeans are too long, so I have to wear boots/heels. Some are okay, but I just got this nice pair last week, I have tried 3 different pairs of shoes and they are still too long, even w/ my highest heels. LOL I am 5'4 too...

As far as hemming jeans it all depends on what type they are. You can't hem bell bottoms, flared or boot cut because they just won't look right. I don't think they would anyway. lol

You can hem them, but you have to know how to sew.
It is harder to hem them than straight legs, but possible.
After all, they were hemmed when you bought them.

I think what patchouli meant was that bell bottoms and flares lose a lot of their style because you cut off some of the flared part.
I'm 5'-8" and my problem with the larger sizes is that you are expected to have a huge butt and large hips ... I don't, so if I buy pants to fit my waist they sag around my derriere and the crotch hangs down to my knees.

That's exactly what I meant. If you have to cut a lot of the material off to hem them then it's going to take all of that flare or bell right out of them. Yes, they are hemmed when you buy them but they are hemmed to fit a certain length.

Me too!!! I'd love to know where ya'll are finding these shorter pants. Granted I love to wear chunky heels or any heels for that matter. But sometimes it sure would be nice to wear my tennis shoes or flat heeled shoes. I'm 5'3", BTW, lol.

SORRY! I misunderstood what you meant. I guess I never thought about that, since I don't have that problem. I was reading in a hurry at work, and wasn't thinking about meanings other than the way I first interpreted it.
You do have a point there, though.
