Why do some parents let their kids abuse them? - Big Big Forums

Last night at Big Lots there was these 2 men that were about 20ish. Big strapping tough looking Latino young men ( just trying to give you an idea of what these men looked like) they had a boy with them that was about 6 or 7 I would say. And that boy was kicking the tar out of the men. I mean with all his might! And they where just ignoring him like it was nothing. Can you imagine having a child keep kicking the snot out of you and just ignoring him? What's up with people nowadays that would let a child do that?

Probably people who don't spank in public and wait until they get home! LOL

Some people are afraid to spank their kids in public... I am not one of them!

Several Reasons:
1. You cannot LOOK at your child wrong in public or some nosy biddy will call social services on you.

2. No training at home. Kid runs the house, probably.

3. In this society,all spanking is considered taboo for some stupid reason, and we are supposed to whine, cajole and beg our kids to behave, or count to 3 or some other nonsense. Now, I know there ARE real abusers out there, but someone who merely spanks is NOT an abuser. Puleeze.

Maybe they were his brothers.

I don't know. I see a lot of kids talk back to their parents... I could have never gotten away with that.

My mom would have whooped my behind right there in front of everybody. She always told me she wasn't gonna put up with no bull and I thank her for it now.

well in oklahoma the govenor passed a law saying its ok to spank your child. so a proper spanking isn't something we have to worry about being reported in our state at least

I have also seen many men who mistakenly think that allowing their boys to punch,hit,kick or whatever makes men out of them.

This is especially prevelent in latino men,but some bubba men do it too.(Special PC disclaimer......before I get jumped,I was married to a mexican man so I have seen this firsthand, and I am currently married to and am a proud bubba)

If that was my son he would have gotten his a$$ smack right then and there, I would not care. My son would not do that to me. We will probably see that kid on The Maruy talk show where he sends them kids to boot camp.

The other day i was dollar storing with my DD's(their 16&21) and behind us in line was this woman with a little boy who was just throwing a FIT!But this little boy was slapping and hitting and trying to bite his mom cuz she wanted him to stay IN the buggie.....
**I turned to oldest DD and told her "Thank You" she says "for what?"
I said...not making me a grandmother just yet.....and i could of cared less that the other woman heard us and made her snotty little face that she did.....lol

A couple years ago I was sitting in this Mexican//Native American restaurant when this woman walks in with her brat, I mean kid. Well I'm sitting at my table minding my own business when this little brat runs over to my table and grabs a bottle of salsa and proceeds to down half the bottle before I could say or do anything. Did I mention that this salsa was so hot that it put blisters in my mouth (not that I'm complaining, that's the way I like it). Well the brat's face turned blood red and he had snot and spit running all the way to the floor, did the mother do anything? Yup, the mother jumped all over the restaurant owner. HELLO?!?! Whatever happened to a little discipline at home? Am I THAT old? I mean HELLO!!! Watch your brats, make your brats behave!!!!! Sorry to rambling on!
