His Perfect Love
His Perfect Love
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us.1 John4:10
I am blessed with two amazing little boys who are so different in every
way, and I love them both dearly.
When my first son was a baby, he did not cry at all-not when he was
hungry, and not when he needed changing. He was a perfect, happy baby.
At times he would lie awake in his bed, enjoying his surroundings or
playing by himself. Except when he was sick. Then he would cry, and I
knew then something was really wrong with him and he needed extra care.
With my second baby, I was excited as I anticipated his arrival. A new
addition to the family! I couldn't wait! I was thinking he would be
just like his brother, having the same temperament, even though my
friends told me that every baby is different. I realized how true that
was when my second son arrived. I was in for the surprise of my life-he
kept me guessing all the time. He always wanted to be held and would
let me and the entire neighborhood know when he was awake or when it
was feeding time. He constantly cried, even if he was fed and dry.
Sometimes I wondered, "Where is the manual for this one? He's nothing
like his brother. I'm even a little afraid to think of how much care he
will need if one day he is not feeling well."
Taking care of my first son, I thought I had it together as a new
mother. With my second son I realized that it was not so. Every child
is truly different. As a wise friend told me, each is special and
unique in his or her own way. Even though my sons are different in many
ways, I love them both dearly; one not more or not less than the other.
In my eyes they are both precious individuals, and I love them
unconditionally.
God loves us very much, no matter how different we are as individuals.
To Him we are special and unique sons and daughters, made in His image.
He made us special, and He loves our uniqueness. Despite our
differences, He loves us unconditionally. We were bound by sin and He
freed us and took us in-His love is perfect. The love of God is greater
far than ever I can tell. Thank You, God, for Your Love.
