My SIL!!!!!!!!!! - Big Big Forums

To make this short my SIL thinks that she is the GREATEST and SMARTEST etc etc and makes me feel like crap every time I have to deal with her. SHe is a lying witch and has the wool pulled over my In Laws eyes-they thing she is the greatest!
SIL is DH's brothers wife....
She calls me today and starts telling me what to bring to her house for Fathers Day. Doesnt ask just TELLS. I say "But we have already made plans to spend with my father." My father has health problems and I am an only child. So she then tells me to either see them on Sat or cancel! I tell her nicely that my parents are busy on Saturday and Sunday is Fathers Day and I am spending it with my Father! She then tells me what a b*&ch I am being and that I always pick my family over dh's. YEAH BECAUSE I AM ON ONLY CHILD-MY PARENTS DONT HAVE ANYONE ELSE!

So I still nicely tell her-sorry but this is too short of notice and we are going to see my father-it could be his last fathers day!
She then slams the phone down!

I am sure I will be getting a call from the MIL yelling at me for being mean to the Princess Witch!

BTW- Her house is in the opposite direction from my parents house so there is no way we can go to both. DH's parents live about a mile from mine so originally we were going to stop at both houses. Whenever I have a gathering I invite both sides of the family-but she NEVER invites my parents.

just blow her off it is father day and you are dad's little girl so go to your dad's house and if you have enough time go to the inlaws house.

OMG! do we have the same SIL??
mine does that to me.. (im an only child too)
and she argues for EVERY holiday! grrrrr i got kids she doesnt.....
ive been putting up with this for 12 yrs now...... and it aint getting better///////

Dont let your SIL or MIL get you upset. You have the right to spend father's day how you see fit and I think it's great you want to spend it with your dad. I myself don't have a father (killed when I was two and my uncle who raised me passed four years ago) and wish more people were like you when it comes to their parents.

Obviously she is very selfish and self centered and has to have all the control.

I hope your dad gets better

I would have picked the phone up and called her right back and told her she has alot of nerve to say you were acting like a b*tch, when she is the one barking orders of what to bring, telling you to either see them on Sat or cancel (WTH??)and acting like a 2 yo (no offense to those of you w/2 yo's) slamming the phone down when she didn't get her way. I think she needs to grow up and act like an adult..sheesh.

I hope that you and your father enjoy a wonderful Father's day together

Are we related and we just don't know it???? My SIL does the same crap. This past Christmas, we had Dh family over told ever to be at our house at 5:00pm.....she decided to tell everyone to be at our house @3:00....I was not a happy camper, she is always telling DH what to do...he's 32, I think that he is old enough to do things on his own without her. She has also called us up this week, and told us that we needed to put the rest of our stuff in storage, becasue her and her family are moving out here with us and MIL....known damn well, we have NO room in our storage room!!!! If she would have asked we might have done it, but she TOLD Dh to get his stuff out...I told him Like hell....I know what you are going through......Just ignore her and maybe she will go away!!!!!
