This happened almost a year ago, and it still pi$$es me off everytime I think about! Ok, this is what happened. I had a friend who was laid off from work, and was living with her parents. Her parents were driving her crazy, so my DH (before we got married) & I discussed having her move in with us, as long as she agreed to the rules. So in the middle of June we talked to her and told her what the rules were going to be. Since DH and I were getting married in August, we told her that she needed to help me keep the house up, the kitchen, (which we all used) and then her bedroom and her bathroom. She said that she would buy food, as well, because she had her kids every other weekend. After she moved in, 2 weeks later she got a job. Which was great! We NEVER asked her to pay anything. Well, she was helping with the wedding she did my flowers...took me up until 5 days before the wedding to get her off her butt to do the flowers. She was lazy, didn't clean her room or the bathroom, until I made a dig deal about it 3 days before the wedding. After the wedding, My Dh and I watch her, she was always whining that she didn't have any money, but yet she was out blowing it on stupid crap. New clothes, new shoes, goingto the clubs, but at the asametime, telling us she couldn't pay her bills. DH and I talked to her about 2 weeks after we cam home from our Honeymoon, and told her that we were giving her until November 1st to find a place and move out. That was about 7 weeks. No surely, if you are saving money, you can save up enough money to find an apartment, Right? We was pi$$ed, got tacky with me, and Itold her if she didn't like it then she need to leave right then and there. I wasn't going to listen to her crap. Now, she is in an apartment, still complaining to me that she can't pay her bills, but yet, she can go out and party...I just don't get it???? That will be the last time that I try to help someone. There is more to this story than what I just told you.

Some people will never change! My Mil can be the same way, broke but just spent $1000 buying what-nots at the jUnk store!

It can be so frustrating!

Some people have no idea what it is to have a responsibility. If she can go out partying, she should be able to pay her bills. Just tell, yeah I know what you mean. Times are rough for us, too. It's like she's indirectly asking you for money. You were already very generous when you allowed her to move in.

I am in the same situation, but I still can't get rid of her. All she spends her money on is pot and going out to eat. Doesn't pay her bills, eats all the food, and yells at me when I am on the net b/c no one can call her....

Your right! She does ask for money without coming out and saying she needs monwy. When we told her that she was gonna have to move out, she told me that she never thought that I would do that to her! What she didn't know, is that we were planning on moving in January. She couldn't have moved in with us. Plus, we had just gotten married in August, and wanted to be alone...and we told her when she moved in that she was gonna have to look for a place as soon as she got a job! So, why was she sooo mad?

Oh I know about this.

My Inlaws are like this. FIL works in a dairy farm, they have a house that comes with it. They dont pay for electric, comes with the house. Only thing they pay for is tv, Internet, phone, car payments and insurance. FIL brings home about $500 a week.

They have no money.

Every week we go over and MIL had gone to big lots or wal-mart and spent everything they had and still has no food. She is always saying things like 'oh we dont have enough money to get food this week.' WTH!

Here we are dh brining home $380 a week, granted we dont pay rent here {thank goodness** but we pay for everything else, and she doesnt understand why we cant just hand over money everytime she says something like that.

Anyone wanna answer why she {40 years old no young kids at home** cant go out and get a job? Oh that is right she is too old to go out and get a job

I'd be mad as anything too. You went over board for this so called friend, only to get dissed in your own home. Some people have no respect.

She has done this to herself, and she has no one to blame. Even at Christmas, after she moved out she was telling me that she had to decide to pay bills or buy Christmas for everyone...she has 3 kids, one that is 21, and the other two are 15 & 16, I think that they are old enough to understand, that she can't buy a whole lot at Christmas, she even asked me if I could buy somethings for them....Hell, I have a hard enough time buying for mine & DH family....we don't have kids, but a lot of nieces and newphews...(don't buy for the adults, unless we draw names) What kind of friend does that? Maybe, I just don't understand.....
