Sad day at my house today!
A little over 19 years ago I went to the pound and got a kitten. It was right after Christmas and they only had one there. I was told if I didnt take her that she would be put to sleep. She had almost no hair and was the tiniest sickest looking thing you ever did see! I felt so sorry for her that I took her home! They didnt charge me for her because she was in such sad shape. I took her to the vet before we went on home and they ran tests on her. She had a vitamin defency and was malnutrished. We got her started on good food ect and wasnt no time until she had hair again and was very healthy. She never did get very big though. When I first brought her home and my husband saw her he said "That has got to be the dorkiest cat Ive ever seen!" So with that being said my new kittens name became Dork. She was a constant companion to me. Followed me everywhere, worked in the flower beds with me or set under the oven waiting for the turkey to get done and her peice before anyone else! For 19 plus years she has been a big part of my life. She was 6 months younger than my youngest son. This morning after getting up I fed all of my animals, Dork, Dweeb(my other kitty), both dogs and my bird. Everything was going fine and I started my house work. I heard an awful noise and turned around just as my Dork was going into seizures I guess thats what it was. The first one lasted for over a half hour and when it was done she couldnt move anything except her eyes. She let out a couple of really sad meows. I called my brother to come help me with her and before he got here she had 5 more, each was worse than the one before. It was hard but we took her to the vet and had her put down. Ive just sat here and bawled all day...she was just like one of the kids! My brother fixed a little "casket" for her and we buried her under the apple tree in the back yard. My pup hasnt left my side all day she knows momma isnt feeling well. Dweeb has walked around searching each room. I know she is looking for her buddy.
