Scifiwoman, I was hoping to read better news than I did. I am so sorry things don't seem to be working out for you. I was hoping the lawyers would be able to help. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

ty.. community action group helped me one time this year with my mortgage and thats all they will do. Once a year. Housing here has a 2 year waiting list and all of it is in bad sections of town.

I guess I would call and try and get some publicity on this it might make the bank back down, call your representative, I emailed mine on the water situation and it goes through Washington then gets passed on to them it took 2 months to hear from him on it, so call that way you will stand a better chance of getting help from them. I'm so sorry this is happening, I had hoped to read better news.

Keep fighting this! I am not an attorney, but just went through this last year. They can decide not to accept payment( because it is not payment in full. They want you to pay all back money owed, plus lawyer fees). If you live in the house, you have up to 4 days before it is sold to buy it back. (This may be different for different states, but it is days.) I managed to work out a deal a week and half before mine was set to be auctioned. The mortgage co. refused to speak to me, because I was behind in my payments, but when they put the place in foreclosure and actually filed with the county(they have to wait at least 120 days after notifying you before they can do anything else or take the next step), I had to deal directly with their lawyer. He was reasonable and we worked out a deal, which the co. accepted. I was a year behind in payments at that point.
Hang in there - you have time - they want you to think you don't, but it's a really slow process.The longer you stay in the house, the better your chances of keeping it. You can write your own letters and make your own calls. Let their attorney know you want to work it out.
Hope this helps a little, I learned it through trial and error.

She told me 81 days when I Called her, but then again she lied about other things. Like when they received my check. The check was for 3 months that I owed. But because they said it went into foreclosure automatically on the first they could only accept certified funds, not a personal check.

I went through this 6 months ago and was able to get help to save my home. They wont help me again. That is why they say that it went into foreclosure automatically because it had been there before.

They have already given me a date when the house will go for sale and that it will be in the newspaper @ a week before I guess. I cant beleive they only gave me 2 weeks to do something. I called the lawyer yesterday to see what the amt was to get it reinstated, not that i have it.

I was told they didnt know it would take 5-7 days to get that info?

In the meantime they are adding more fees on.

Everytime I have called the lawyer, long distance of course, he has not been in and hasnt returned any of my calls. The mortage co, Chase Manhattan, refuses to speak with me at all. The one I did speak to to start with was extreamly rude. I keep trying to think of something to stop it but so far everything I have tried hasnt helped.

Thanks for all the kind words and suggestions. If Im not online in two weeks you know why.

Have you contacted the local media? I know its been suggested several times on here. What about your local disability organizations? Have you tried to see what they can do to help?

IMO Calling the media isn't going to help her based on what she has stated. (People go through this everyday) She mentioned this has happened before and they worked with her. This time they refuse to do so. Probably because they are tired of dealing with it time after time. It would be a lot easier to just sell the house to someone who can afford it.

I don't see the morgage company being unfair to you. If you can't afford it you can't afford it. There are housing programs for people with disabilties. You just got to call, don't sit and wait until the last minute to do something. Start calling everyone now, cause if you don't, you will be homeless and it'll be ever harder for you to find a home. Because frankly our country can give a sh*t less about homeless people. They don't want to help you unless you have a place to live. If you go homeless you have a good chance of losing your disability.

If you need help doing searches on places in your state who will help people in your situation, just ask..Everyone here can help you out and lead you in the right direction.

Anyhow..Hope it all works out.
