Unhappy Apt/Ceiling update

Ok, we wrote and submitted our letter to the office manager regarding the whole apt fiasco. They offered us a new apt with no hassles. Hopefully, we won't have a problem getting the rent reduction for the days we have been put through all of this (if anyone knows anything about doing that, please post.)

ok first of all, I will say that I know I should just be grateful that we have a new apt to move into, and I am but it doesn't change the fact that not a bone in my body wants to move! They were going to move us just 2 doors down which would have been the easiest move in the world but we did not want to stay on the third floor! Hello?!?!?

So now we have to move across the complex and we just have so much stuff and two computers..it's going to be hell. I can't move anything heavy bc of my back injury so bf will ahve to do all of that. I have been cleaning and packing up and I am so wiped out. I had to see the personal trainer yesterday and now again tomorrow. My body is not happy about this.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my original post and hopefully by the end of the weekend (we start moving in tomorrow) tjhings will be back to normal. Sigh...off to fill out myy change of address forms... :/

Unhappy I feel for you!

We just moved, too We are STILL living out of boxes I am being super meticulous this time, though. I am sorting through every single teeny-tiny thing and either tossing, storing or selling. Funny, I was JUST wondering about your ceiling problem last night and........voila' Good luck on the move!

they should pay to have you moved. I would tell them that they owe you for that and the inconvience too. Hope you like the new apt.

Hope you like the new place. I know about not wanting to move, when we bought our house 4 years ago it was only about 15 feet from our mobile home and gosh that was still a chore. We had lived in the MH for 10 years. It's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate, when we moved to the MH it was about 3 pick up loads, when we moved into this house I don't think we could have fit all the stuff into 3 semi's. Good luck on the move.

Thanks guys..We pick up the keys this evening. I'm trying to let the excitement of a new place win over the strtess of moving. The new apt has some perks we don't have now..The outsides of the closets are mirrored (sp?) and the bathroom has vanity lights and the living area has a celing fan. The walls aren't white which is cool bc I have always had white walls and I never know what to do with walls anyway. lol

It's on the first floor so we won't ahve to worry about leaks uunless the people abnove us do something crazy! lol

Also it should be cooler since we're not in the direct line of the sun anymore.(but no more view of the mountains The fan should circulate the ac better as well.

We are right next to the pool which is good and bad, we'll probably use it more (can you believe we ahve only been in 1 time in 18 motnhs..heated 75 foot pool..just goes to show when you have something you take it for granted) but it's also probably going to be annoying with people drinking out there in the summer adn all the roughhousing in the pool. ah well.

The laundry room is being renovated which means we'll ahve to treck everything over to the original side we lived on but hey, I could be abck in NYC lugging it up the the corner laundromat right?

I am just worried about the move really causing some pain with my back adn all. I guess I wil just try to take it as easy as I can and if it takes a week to move a studio apt then so be it. I will keep the Vicodin on hand. lol

Thanks again guys.

We had to have a lady switch apts this week, because a pipe in her ceiling was leaking. Out maint. guys moved everything for her. After all, she HAD to move so we could fix her cieling, it wasn't her fault.
