Anyone have any nformation about the Phen-fen lawsuit - Big Big Forums

I was under the impression that people who took this drug was supposed to be able to get back the money they put out for the drug and for testing to see if they had a condition caused by the drug, I went to my local hospital and had tests done and found I had a heart murmur, and then hired a lawyer I had seen was taking these types of cases, I had previously heard of this lawfirm and then they insisted that I go to a traveling company that was doing the electrocardiogram even though I had already had one done at my local hospital, my lawyer had all this info including the test results and costs and also a copy of the prescription that I got filled from pharmacy and now I'm being told that my condition is not serious enough to warrant reimbursement of anykind and that my name will be put on a list for 12 years in case I develop any heart disease related to the drug. I'm very glad that I don't have anything worse than a heart murmur but I at least thought I would be reimbursed for the drug and the tests, anybody know if this is the way its supposed to be or if I am being jerked around by a lawfirm that might be working against me instead of for me. Any info will be appreciated very much.

my mom has a claim in this lawsuit too. She has been invloved with it for a few years, and a few weeks ago, she got a new packet of paperwork too. i asked her when she was gonna get her money but she did not know. I think that they are keeping people in the dark because SO many people had taken the drug, and they know that they are really in trouble. I am involved with a sexual harrassment class action lawsuit with a major company, and I should get my money next month. and it has only taken less than a year to finish all of this! (my neener, LOL)

I have had a lawyer for over a year or more the time is not up until March of this year as I understand it and so I am confused as to why if I joined the lawsuit within the time limit why I'm not being reimbursed for expenses.

Thanks Cab92, I don't really know whats going on and was hoping someone else might have gotten reimbursed that filed late which would tell me that I should get reimbursed also since I know I file later than you did, I filed on the extended date, not the original deadline. For those interested they have extended deadlines on some of the things regarding this case do a search, I've lost the link to the info I found, sorry or I would post it for you. Also I got the same packet in the mail you did recently and I called my lawyer to about it and they said to send it to them which I thought was strange. They also insisted that I had no case at all unless I went and had my tests done through a company being paid to do the tests by the company that put out the pills I think, that also seemed weird since I had had several test done already.
