You get one trash can. You have a choice between 2 different sizes though. And you can put your own trash cans out as well, but they charge a lot more for you to do that.
Oh and DH is trying to weasel out of responsibity for it. He is trying to save his butt I guess!

That doesn't sound fair.
I think we pay $50 a month for our service. They pick up once a week and we have a 96 gallon trash can.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is now 5:58 pm and I still DO NOT have my trash can back!!!!!!!!!!!! And of course they are closed so I can't call and complain.

That is too high. Where we used to live,(Clarksville, Tn) you got to chose who picked up your garbage, and I think ours was like $13 a month. I know my MIL has that service where she lives, and I don't think she pays over $20 a month
do you have a choice of who you can get? or do they have a monopoly in your area?

We have a monopoly. But this really cheap for here. When we lived in Kent we paid $90 a month for pickup and the trash cans were 33 gallon ones and you were allowed one.

We have the big 96 gallon cans too, but we also have these blue bins that you are SUPPOSED to put your recyclable stuff in for them to pick up ,but I take my recyclables to the center myself, that way I get paid for my cans and papers etc, not the trash company, They get enough of my money!

Have you ever thought of just letting the company do a monthly electronic withdrawal for the payment from your checking account. I used to run always at the last minute to pay bills always paying late fees and such, yes I am a procrastinator, my motto is put off today what you can do tomorrow or even the next day and next week is even better if you can do it then. Finally I caught up all the utility bills and started putting them one by one on an electronic withdrawal and then the one that I can't do that with I got my debit card and just call it in, no more rushing and life is easier. Plus you won't be paying anything extra for a bill paying service, also right now Bank Of America is offering free checking with your being able to pay your bills online through them if thats your bank, we are thinking of switching since our bank currently charges 12.00 a month and for that we get free checks thats it.

I pay $9.50 a month on my Water bill for SANITATION, which is garbage pick up. We have a BIG can with wheels that we put out front every Wed. It holds about 4 39 gallon trash bags full. IF we have extra, we put it out beside the can in a trash bag and they always pick it up. But we dont do that very often, maybe 3-4 times a year. The neighbors on either side of me both have an extra can, I guess they pay an extra $9.50 a month for pickup.
We dont have the option of NOT paying for garbage pick up because we are on city water. HOWEVER, my MIL lived right onthe outskirts of town and her water came from antoher water department. Instead of city water, it was county water. She paid her garbage pick up every 3 months. When my FIL was heading downhill with Alzheimers, I cant tell you how often they picked up her garbage can because he wouldnt pay, or he wouldnt pay enough because he thought the bill was too high.
I hope they bring your garbage can back this morning, Its rough living without one.

The company doesn't do electronic withdrawl. They don't take credit cards either.
And we have Bank of America. Which I can't stand they are forever screwing up our account. They don't charge anything for billpayer, but you have to watch them to make sure they don't mess anything up. One month they took my $6.00 service charge out 100 times!
cpbaby--- Finally got my trash can back at 7:00 this morning!
