    I am so upset!

A couple months ago we lost one of our dogs. Dummy me, I waited to take her to the vet until it was to late. Never did find out what was wrong. Well yesterday another one of my babies starting throwing up. I thought OK, if he's not better by the morning we are going to the vet. So this morning, we went. Total came to $350, I don't really care about that he is priceless to me, but they don't know what's wrong with him. We were sent home, after every test imaginable, with some antibiotics and some meds for his upset tummy.

I don't know what to do. I feel helpless. He is so sick, I am afraid to leave him in fear that when I come home he would have passed. Thats what happen with the other one, and I still feel guilty that I wasn't there for her. I have a test tomorrow in school, and I know I won't do well, my mind just isn't there.

Do you think I should email my teacher and ask if I can come in and take it Friday?

It's worth a shot to ask. So sorry for your pet troubles.

I have had pets pass, and both professors and employers were sympathic to me.

The only thing you can do is ASK. Explain about the pet that passed before, and that this pet has the same issues. Offer to bring in the vet's receipt or proof you were at the vet.

I am so sorry for what you are going through.

ASK but be prepared for a no. It can't hurt.
Did they vet suggest anything to keep the dog hydrated? Maybe Pedialyte?
Keep that baby warm and comfortable. Let him know that you're there for him no matter what happens. Let him know that if it's time for him to pass that you'll deal with it.

I am so sorry for what you two are going through. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I emailed her and she said no problem! I just have to take it in the morning. I have a great teacher!

Plus the Vet figured out what is wrong, Thank-God, so I have to give him two kinds of antibiotics for a week and a half. Tested our other dogs, and one other one had it too, so she is on meds. This morning after a couple doses of the first antibiotic he showed signs of improvement, and tonight he actually was begging for some of my soup lol. Daddy is going to be soooooo happy when he gets home from work )

Is there any chance that you are feeding him Science diet? My Mom just had her dogs get very ill and $1500 later we found out it was the food!

Hope your baby is well soon!

Glad your baby is doing better.

It is strange that you mention pet food. I recently bought Blue Buffalo food for my cats which cost me a pretty penny & they absolutely refused to eat it. Now I hear there is a recall on it.
Insanity is hereditary. You get it from your kids.

Glad your dog is doing better and you have an understanding teacher.

I lost one of my dogs suddenly a few yrs ago. Turns out she was eating grass clippings the evil neighbor was throwing into my yard from his yard that was heavily fertilized. I dont fertilize my lawn at all!

My Mom's vet actually put in paperwork trying to recoup some of her vet expenses for her. Its awful, I used to only use Science diet...but now I am afraid to!
