I disagree. If people don't have to worry about doing drugs can you imagine seeing them all the time high. Even probably doing their jobs high. I still think the more a person can get the more they want. I don't want to have to deal with people that are high and acting a fool or are dangerous. It depends on what drug they use. Haven't you seen or heard on the news about all the drug addicts that rob people and places to get money for drugs or to get the drugs themselves. And they kill people too to get the drugs when they're high.
How is legalizing going to stop that. They still need the money to buy it and if they want more and more they'll rob and kill more to get it.

IME, if people want to use drugs, they find a way to get them. If they legalized drugs tomorrow, I still wouldn't be going to buy them. It's not like I woudl say gee heroin is legal I think I'll run down to CVS and buy a bag.

For the people who really want to do drugs, they will always find a way or a vice, legal or not....for those who are sitting on the fence.....legalization would be a 'green light' for them. It would also send the message to the next generation that drug use really isn't all that 'bad', how could it be if it's legal?
IMO legalization would be a real big mistake that everyone would regret.

Drugs are still legal in Amsterdam... friend went there just last summer. As for "drugs" as a whole... nope, not for legalization... but I do think pot should be legal. I think the taxes would do this country a great favor while also getting ppl popped for possession out of our jails to make way for actual criminals.

Some people just need to be saved from themselves, like your neighbors. With alcohol many people can drink responsibly and use it for celebrations. Drugs are different. Getting hooked is bad and the more one takes the more one wants. Just the way drugs are. You can't take a little cocaine or heroin.

I completely disagree and will leave it at that as it was not my intention to turn this into a pro/con legalization of drugs thread. People will always abuse drugs/alcohol whether legal or not. Some of those people will act like complete idiots and cause trouble. Just glad that the op has some piece and quiet for now and hope her hood stays that way.

If they legalized marijuana, I don't see it as that bad. You don't see too many people drunk at work and I doubt you'd see someone smoking a doobie at work either. Although, I'm sure some would drink and some would smoke on the job. I guess if they legalized any I think weed should be the only one. I just don't see it as much different than drinking alcohol. Heck, seems like people are way more mellow when high than when drunk. Really though, it doesn't matter as too many get drunk and hurt or get hurt, and the same would probably happen with marijuana. Seems like a lot of crime that happens over it would probably disappear though.
It really sucks that girl had to die. I don't care what the problem was, no one needs to give a life over it.

UPDATE: She is actually alive. I am truly surprised. But her buddies are coming around again, and the new boyfriend was dealing again today. Saw him pop out of his door long enough to hand off pills to someone who was pretending to go to their mail box.
Gonna start blowing up 911 again.
