    Stupid printer

So my husband and I go to buy a printer. I just wanted a basic $40 model. He talks me into getting the $90 Kodak printer. Its going to be mainly used to print work sheets for homeschooling my DS. So I spend at least 30 mins putting it all together, loading the software, etc. And guess what? Its not working right. The black ink doesnt work, and pretty much only the yellow ink works. I went to walmart to ask if I have to bring the whole thing back,or can I just bring in the ink cartridges and try to see if thats the problem. Nope. Gotta bring the whole thing back, get another printer.. hook it all back up and see if that does the trick. aarrrgggggg!! That's irritating!!!

Unfortunately that's the way it works.
Sorry you had to go all that trouble.
I hope Walmart isn't too far away.

No.. its like 7 mins away. But I hate having to have to unhook it all, box it up, stand in line, get another one, unbox it, put it together, hook it up. The next one better work perfectly or I am going to be one PO'd B#@%&

Could someone recommend an easy printer. I am a senior citizen and do not need all the fancy stuff. All I use the printer for is printing out coupons.

Lexmark makes a cheaper printer. I think they are around $40 or so.

    With expensive cartridges.

Go buy a HP laser printer. It might be a little more to start with but you will save a ton on not buying those darn ink jet cartridges. Also they have great customer service.

See-- I just wanted a black ink one really.. but DH wants one that can print photos ( I don't know why.. we don' t frame them and hang them up, they sit in a box) but he wanted to get me a nice one for my bday.. plus my stepdaughter will want to print pics too.. its just irritating getting a brand new product that does not work.

I usually get Lexmark when on clearance because it is cheaper than buying the ink alone. I get a new printer and 1 color and 1 black cartridge. Then I give the old one away to one of the kids, a neighbor, friend or donate it to goodwill. The last 3 or lexmarks I had, I paid under $15.
