Should I Pay for Your Health Care?
Obama seems to think I should.
Right now I am rebuilding my garage roof. First I cut down an oak tree ("tons" of fun!) Next I will install new wood and tarpaper. It would be nice if someone else did the work except I can't afford to pay for it Don't I deserve free "homecare?"
Well, no actually, I don't. I was an unfortunate victim of fate. And so are people with health issues. I don't want any financial help (well, actually I do, but...) I will fix my garage, you fix your body. I think that is only fair. Period.

Shoot I don't have health insurance on me and I'm scared of what its going to cost and if we'll be able to afford it. If we could I would already have it.

You already do pay for the healthcare of others. It comes from the taxes you pay. It is called Medicaid. Unfortunately it seems only illegals and minorities qualify or those with kids and no dads.

It means that she is being responsible for what needs to be done on her home like others should be responsible for their own health insurance. Basically personal responsibility seems to be a thing of the past with the Obama administration. It doesn't take a village to raise a person it takes a family taking personal responsibility for their own family.

Now it seems to take a village to pay for raising your kids.
*Note - of course "your" is meant in the general sense, not directed at anyone in thsi thread

I agree that things should be done to make it affordable for those who do want to be responsible for themselves....such as yourself.

It does seem that even now with Medicaid that it still doesn't reach the people who really need it. I know some people who receive it and take advantage of it. My sister has severe scoliosis and she was denied for Medicaid and SSI? (not sure if it is called SSI, but it was disability type thing) She is now 40 years old and has worked since she was 16....yet can't get any help with medical care. She works 40 hrs a week right now and her scoliosis is VERY obvious, even if you are not in the medical field. It's really sad that it seems the ones who really need it don't qualify. I swear some people just are born knowing how to work the system.

I do not agree with the reform package we have ended up with, but I assume you have never been stuck in the middle of making the choice of fixing the hole in your roof AND restarting insurance because you were laid off and working a new job at a lower pay. Maybe not qualifying for insurance till after a probationary period. Couldn't afford to keep the cobra any longer. And while this all happens you get diagnosed with cancer. In a free fire state like here in Georgia, you will most likely lose your job. I watched my daughters best friend lose her mother at 15 because she actually chose not to fight anymore for treatment. She felt as though she was worth more dead than alive, and she didn't wan't her husband to lose his carpenty business and file complete bankruptcy. Not everything is accessible for everyone. Most of us do what we have to do. But in this day and age, in this country, we should not have to make that type of a decission. Count yopr blessings.
Please do not take this as a personal attack. It is not meant that way. This is only my opinion.

i understand that you think everyone should take care of their own-with that i agree, but some folks have worked their ass's off all their lives and still cant afford ins. maybe we should just give obama's health care a chance or at least a try.
i have worked since i was 10,yes 10 never had ins till i was in my 30's through my jobs,i have it to this day through my job,its not the best, but its okay-why not help people out,if at all possible,it just might save some lives, and look at it this way,we spent billions,to bail out the car companys and big manufactors-so why not help our own, with our tax dollars?jmoo
