So sick of people who are ALWAYS...

pleading poverty. Can't pay this bill, can't pay that bill, might lose our home.......yada yada yada.

But they get their nails done every two weeks, they are always buying clothes at high end stores, always buying the latest toys (talking 4 wheelers and snowmachine type items here), and always eating out . Get your effin priorities straight.

I don't see how people can buy stuff and not pay their rent or utilities. Thats the first thing on my list to pay. I want a place to live and lights and gas on before I want a tv or junk.

We have people like that in our lives. We pay our bills first and pay cash for our toys. That's an alien concept to some of them. We may get things a bit later than others but no one ever comes and takes them away.

Someone I know is being evicted from their home. It is being forclosed on January 7th. But every time we hear from them, they are out shopping (where are they going to keep the stuff). Or have gone ice skating at the plaza or out to eat. They don't even know where they are going to move to, just relatives or friends, but still go shopping and out to eat. I feel bad that my kids dont get more STUFF, but I talked to them the other day and told them we learned they can have STUFF or they can have a place to live with heat, air, etc and not worry about being kicked out.

Some people will never change. They will never help themselves. They EXPECT everyone else to do it for them!!

My cousin and his wife are kinda like this. They moved in with my grandmother back in October I think because their electricity was turned off. Well, for the next two months, instead of paying on their disconnected electric bill or even on their rent that was 3+ months behind, they went shopping every Friday night when the wife got paid (no, my cousin was not working) and was then asking my grandmother for money to buy diapers for their baby. Drove me up the wall! They FINALLY paid off their bills and moved back home on Christmas Eve...

OMG i am so glad someone started a thread about this, lol! this is the time of year being a landlord gets soooo frustrating. we've had at least four of our renters call and say that they will be late. (DUH, you already ARE late!) cause they dont have the money, dh doesnt get paid til the 7th, etc, etc... which in actuality they are saying "my rent comes last, i had to buy the super extra expensive presents for my family this Christmas, and i didnt budget and have no money for rent left, so screw you!" one actualy had the kahunas to call the beginning of december and say that if he paid december rent his family would have no Christmas. so he would be paying decembers rent the beginning of january (still havent seen it...) and january's rent the end of january. um, then the next day is feb first and rent is due yet again?!?!? i have a feeling this wont be going well. yes, we have mortgages to pay on all of our properties, not to mention improvements, taxes, hot water breaks, dishwasher breaks, etc. and we really try to either get there ourselves to help with the problem or have one of our local, trusted handy men to get there if we cant ASAP! thanks for starting this thread and letting ME vent as well!!

You must know some of my family and one of my neighbors. LOL! I hate to say it but one of those people is my Mom to a degree. Granted she wrongfully lost her job and gets unemployment and the poor woman does put out dozens of applications - she's definitely NOT a loafer by any means- but to hear her talk, she's flat broke, about to lose it all , etc and yet she loves to go shopping with me. LOL! Her boyfriend is actually taking really good care of her and helping with the bills since he lives there... but I know she didn't see her job loss coming and I don't consider her a big saver of money by any means, so she's definitely hurting for cash, but they're always on the road going somewhere, doing something. Most of the activities are free (going for a drive in the mountains, hiking, etc. etc.) and she cooks 90% of the time, but boy can she buy some clothes and other crap she thinks she needs. LMAO!
But my neighbor on the other hand... OMG... this woman has a bad addiction to just about everything illegal as far as I can tell... and apparently right now is having major problems with her 16 year old daughter who apparently called the police and/or child protective services and they did some kind of investigation on her for drug use - the MOM not the daughter. She is forever coming over here asking for alcohol. If we need her help, we just tell her we have alcohol. I haven't seen her around for a while but I know a month ago she tried to tell us her power was shut off, while her lights were still on...and she wanted $20 to turn it back on. UH NO. I've gotten shut off notices before and it's not $20 to get it back on, at least not here through the TVA. So that got her a big no.

Sorry to take over your thread, just a topic I can relate to.
