picky picky eater (my 2 year old)

I swear, today I have offered him

for breakfast a pancake, some bacon, grapes. NOPE
snack~ cheese chuncks, crackers, grapes (yeap tried that one again)~ NOPE

lunch~ a grilled cheese sandwich, and some yogurt~ NOPE

the child ONLY wants potatoes, mashed potatoes, french fries, chips......

hell eat rice, like rice a roni.
He use to eat green beans and corn, won't touch em' now

He refuses to eat ANY meat, I can't even hid it in the potatoes, he finds it and pulls it out of his mouth.

    He'll munch on popcorn.

He wont even try anything new... mac & cheese, he's never had, won't open his mouth for it~~ I know he would prob. like it but he won't even try. Will not try anything new....

    aagh!

He's like a walking french fry or something.

Ya know, I wouldn't worry about it. Food is a battle I just don't choose to fight w/my kids. As long as their are some healthy choices, it doesn't really matter. Perhaps stop offering him so many different choices would be easier. He'll eat when he is hungry. I swear when my 12 yr old was that age he existed on frozen waffles and bananas.

My older son, who is 16 now, would eat anything you put in front of him. My younger son, now 10, came along and only wanted hot dogs, bologna or chicken nuggets. He will eat quite a bit more now, he'll try just about anything, but there are still some things he won't eat. All I can say is hang in there and one of these days he'll surprise you and start eating. Good luck s:

My brother wouldn't eat hardly anything but cereal and ketchup with lightbread when he was two and junk food. He took a while but he started eating better later. We were really worried about him but he didn't seem to be sick.

that's what I'm afraid of, I mean, it would be nice if it was just say like banannas and something (healthy) but he doesn't want meat (only a chicken nugget and that is SOMETIMES), no veggies, no fruit..... cold cereal in a bowl sometimes. Couple bites of pancake... I just feel bad he's eating so much damn carbs (potatoes). He clamps his mouth shut when I try to offer him anything, even if he's never tried it before.
He will not drink milk, sometimes choc. milk, will not drink water, he drinks juice. Only juice.
I don't ever rememeber my girls being this way at all, they would eat just about anything. And went through tons of milk.

I'm sure he'll grow out of it. Wait til he turns 11 or 12, you won't be able to stop him from eating. You will wonder where the heck all the food goes? LOL

I was the same way. At the age of 5 I refused to eat meat & ate only potatoes & some veggies and I was fine. My parents tried to force the meat on me & I won't touch it to this day. Just let him be, maybe bring him to the doc to have check his protein & iron levels. Hiding meat in his food will just make him not trust you, my mom tried the same crap.

My neighbors little boy was like a year or so ago, but he seems to have outgrown it, don't worry too much just yet.

I agree with everyone else. He'll outgrow it. My 11 year old is still pretty picky when it comes to meat other than chicken or hamburger but everything else he eats. My 5 year old will eat just about anything.

My son was like that- he'd eat anything until he was about 18 months then BAM he stopped, I was so mad! He's FINALLY grown out of it though. Chloe on the other hand, she's a weird child she has been known to turn down cotton candy for celery!

My nephew used to turn down cookies and chips for fried green tomatoes when was little and he loved sucking on lemons.
