I wish I had been there when he died. He was in the hospital from Friday morning till he died Monday morning and no one let me know till after he died. I would have went and seen him before he died if I had known.

Yes I do. I think some know it but they don't know they know it. I know sounds crazy. One day my sil was looking out the door at my mom's house and said look a dove that means good luck and my mom said no it means someone is going to die and the dove has come to bring them home. Three days later my mom died. As we were getting things together we notice my mom had done things like she would dry clean my dads things but only took so many of his things in. When we went to get his clothes she had everything. When we were closing out the charge cards we ask my dad what one does he want left open. He told us and everything had a zero balance but the one he picked to keep. Her driver liscence had expired she didn't renew them. There were other things.
So I think she did all this but maybe not knowing why it was being done.

Absolutely I believe they do! When I was 13 years old my grandfather lived with us. A few days before my sister was suppose to get married he ended up in the hospital. He would not let anyone stay with him at the hospital he wanted everyone to go to the wedding. My dad and his Dr. were good friends so he said he would keep a close watch on my g-pa. My grandfather died at 10:30 the night of the wedding. That morning he asked the Dr. when he came to check on him "Are you coming with me?" Dr says "Where?" My Gpa "I'm going home today!" Dr. "No you're not I'm not releasing you." My gpa took Drs hand and smiled " I AM going home today." Dr. left it at that but when he passed that night he knew exactly what my gpa was talking about, kinda bothered him he never called my dad and told him about what gpa said. My gpa was a minister for 50 years and it's comforting knowing that he was so at peace and new it was his time to go HOME!

Yes I do. My father passed away fairly suddenly but we found that he had written down his wishes a few months before he died. When I left from visiting him 5 days before he passed away, he cried. He was never one to cry and I could see fear but also peace in his eyes.

Yes I do. I think my Daddy, Grandpaw and my Grandmaw knew the end was coming.

With my Grandpaw, we had been down home for a visit. When we left, instead of saying see you later, he told us goodbye. My husband and I both noticed the comment. "Paw" never, ever told us goodbye, it was always "I'll see you later. He was dead a couple months later.

With my Grandmaw, she had my Mom and her sister take her to her home after a hospital stay. She walked through the rooms and touched everything that was in it. Within just a couple of she was back in the hospital and didn't make it back out.

With my Daddy, I will never forget the mood he was in just a few hours before he passed away. He was in a wonderful mood, smiling and just in a really wonderful mood. In looking back, I think Daddy knew that that was the day that he would be reunited with my Mom and would be having dinner with Jesus.

I think some do. My experience:

I worked at a state hospital (mental), midnight shift. One old lady seemed to mention her funeral, wanting to know if we had her kids' numbers, her last wishes several times one week. Didn't think much of it, you know....they are "mental". One night, we were doing bed check (diaper change) and she was soaked. We had to strip her down and give her a fresh gown and bed. As I held her over to me so the bed could be made under her, she said "Get this off of me" I asked her "Opal, what dear, there's nothing on you". She again said "Get this off of my chest". I told her again, nothing was on her, she was fine and getting a fresh bed. We gave her a new gown and bed and went on w/ the other pts. 30 mins later she was dead. I think she felt it. I think she knew for sure.

I'm sorry he did not make it right, he should have, I guess guilt was overwhelming for him and he could not admit what he had done was wrong.

I worked in a nursing home years ago as a nurse's aide, one of the little ladies kept talking about going home that night, I asked if her family was coming to take her for an outing or home for a while. She said, No that she was going home to see Jesus that night, that he was coming for her and she was going with him. I mentioned it to some of the other employees that she thought she was going home to be with Jesus. Imagine my surprise when I came into work the next morning to hear that she had died during the night.
Ignorance is bliss but the question is can we afford it?

Reading what you've all said makes me believe people do know when they're going to die. I've always wondered if they did.
