ok I have to VENT!
Most of you know I have been looking for a J_O_B! NEED ONE! Badly!
I have been laid off since January! I took sometime off to be with the kids and to just spend some much needed time on taking care of me and my family..... ok so in June I said I need to get a JOB and so I have appplied EVERYWHERE! Not one place is hiring. Or if they are hiring, my dad's long lost cousin, that I have not seen since I was 11 works there and I cannot get the job cuz she works there............. UGH! Not even my cousin! anyways........
I go to a couple places today and I ask for an application for employment and if they are hiring and if so what positions are available......... 4 out of the 5 places I went today said, Oh we don't do applications anymore, you have to apply online......... so I was a little shocked but I said ok sure I can do that, what is website address.........person I asked was like " Oh I don't know, guess you will have to search it", or the one person shouted across the store,(mind you there are customers there) HEY WHAT"S THE EMAIL ADDRESS TO APPLY FOR A JOB??? No answer, Well I guess you will have to come back later when someone knows............ WTF?????
I actually had one really nice lady tell me but what the heck happened to personal aspect of job searching...........
When I was job searching a few years ago, you would go out dressed for an interview, you went in, you filled out the application right there if possible, you asked for a manager or person in charge, they took the application, you talked to them for a minute or more, and sometimes you got luck and got interviewed right on the spot!
No Noooowwww! you have to go ooooooooonline and fill out the application and wait to get a response............
I have spend the past hour and half filling out applications online and then this is soooooooo funny, at the end they ask for your resume, after you have basically put all of your information from the resume on their application! UGH! So, I upload my resume and off I go........ and Yah I found a couple of the places after searching online, but GEEZE!
I got all dressed up for nothing! I even wore pantyhose! and not just my Thigh highs!

Thats really sucks but can I just tell you I love the fact that you can do applications online you can attach your resume and you dont have to waste gas and dress up you can do it from your house. I dont know what your looking for but I would go to hospitals and different places and they all have applications online. I have even gotten a few call backs from the ones I have submitted.

(((lisahiser))) That stinks! I can't believe how rude they were. Good grief. If they make you apply online they should at least be able to tell you where to apply to. I will keep good thoughts that you get a job soon. College kids should be heading back soon so hopefully something will open up.

sending good thoughts your way.. man that would be delicious if you get a job at the place where the person said they didn't know the web address... I think I would write it down on a piece of paper and give it to them and say "oh yeah, remember when I asked you what the addy was that one day and you didn't know, I wrote it down so in the future you will" and just wait for the look on their face
