Im sick of being sick.......

Christmas Day I got a slight cold....I thought well, I will tough it out, no biggie. Mid February, I am still coughing, although I dont feel too badly, so I break down and go to the doctor. He said it was a sinus infection and the drainage was causing my cough. I had 10 days of Keflex(sp?) and felt really good the last 5 days of my meds and then for the next 5-7 days.

Thursday night I was watching CSI and I literally felt my head stop up, BOOM! Now I am snotty and my head is stopped up. I dont feel great at all and I think I am running a low grade temp. I have horribly chapped lips from breathing through my mouth and I am having trouble eating without breathing.

I THINK it is just a cold, mainly because I am running clear snot, but I am so SICK of this mess. I just want to feel better.

I know how you feel. the whole month of Feb i was sick..got a nice infection on the left side of my face. after the doc got it cleared up boom it was on the right side..i spent more days in the docs office & at home then i did work...then i ended up with my grandsons cold on top of the infection. Just now starting to feel good and keeping my fingers crossed i dont get any thing else. Keep putting carmex or some thing on your lips..mine got like that but from my meds..and again with this cold and not being able to breath unless i keep my mouth open...its the pits big time...

February and March are horrible for me too. Last week i ended up in the hospital with a bad case of the intestinal flu. I returned back to work this week, and now i have a sinus infection. Doc said this is one of the worst flu seasons recorded, and i believe it. If you have a humidifier, it works great for moisture in the air, and those vicks strips that plug into a night lite are great for sleeping too. Sorry everyone feels so shi--y!!

I have had laryngitis for the past two weeks...my voice is somewhat back but still not my own voice...It started with a common cold that put me in bed for 3 days and now I feel great except for my voice......I feel for all those that are sick...Hope everyone feels better soon....spring is on the way, hopefully!

This morning I got up and couldnt move my mouth, it was so dry I was afraid I would split my lips. NOW, I can breathe through my nose, but its running water and my teeth/face HURTS. I guess I am going back to the doctor as soon as I can get an appointment.

You need to go back, I have had several drs tell me sometimes it takes 2 rounds of antibiotics to kill a sinus infections. Best of Luck to you... I was sick all of feb w/ pneumonia. 3 rounds of antibiotic and am still coughing.

People often forget that it could be a tooth,gum problem and overlook a trip to the dentist. Hope you feel better soon.

Antibiotics don't help sinus infections. I've had more than one doctor tell me that. I was given antibiotics for a sinus infection by prompt care doctors, got oral thrush, and still am not back to normal over two months later. My regular doctor told me that antibiotics rarely help sinus infections, that they just have to run their course.

I got sick around Christmas too. 3 1/2 weeks before I even started feeling better. Sore throat, lost my voice, stuffy/runny nose (how is that possible at the same time?), dry cough, headache... I finally bought some OTC Mucus Relief (expectorant/nasal decongestant).

antibiotics wont help anything virus related,I have had many sinus infections and other infection and antibiotics have always helped . unless antibiotics dont work within 3 days they usually say to change them.antibiotics are for infection but each antibiotic is for different infections, cp baby are you sure you dont have bronchitis or maybe walking pneumonia? Id have an xray done to make sure it isnt that because out of all the sinus infections I have gotten I have NEVER gotten that bad(dry lips hard to move your mouth,etc) and Ive had some killer sinus infections before. but good luck figuring out what it is

My DD used to get colds like crazy, and then we discovered this stuff called Cold MD. It's like a vitamin to help the duration of your colds. It really worked for her. They have it at Sam's and wal mart. But then, you risk the germs floating around folks, so it's a win/lose thing.
