Thread: It smells like dead fish!!!!

I need a new car. I really do. Everyone says my current car stinks bad. Ex-GF actually had the guts to tell me it smells like dead fish. I got a good deal on it, because the previous owner drove it off in to the lake. It took weeks to dry out but other than the side window being broke out from his so called "accident" it looked ok and got me to the bars. I guess it does have somewhat of a odor but I need to pawn it off on some other lucky dude soon and get a better car. Perhaps hanging a very strong deodorizer in it will mask the odor somewhat until it's sold. Any thoughts on a good scent to kill off this Dead Fish Smell at least until its sold? I tried pouring a half bottle of cologne on the carpet floor but WHEW!!!! Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried getting a carpet cleaner and cleaning the carpets? I had to do that once after my kid forgot to roll up the windows and it rained buckets.

This reminds me of that old story about the guy getting a corvette dirt cheap. It seems the car had been the scene of a murder in the desert. They didn't find the scene for days, and the smell was horrific. I know, I know, it's up there with the serial killer with the hook story.
